If voting with our wallets worked as people suggest it does, trillion dollar companies wouldn't exist at all. Who votes to be overcharged?
Overcharged?
I pay for things that I deem provide me with value. Do you feel that companies should not make a profit for providing things people actually want?
Is apple gear expensive? Yes, but so is my time. I especially value my own personal time, which is far less available to me (fewer days) than my work hourly rate.
On balance apple stuff saves me a heap of time both at work and at home vs. the alternatives. If there was alternative that worked better for me, I would buy it. But there's not, so I don't. Plenty of other Apple customers feel the same way.
If it Apple was overcharging like you seem to think they are, another more agile, hungrier company would eat their lunch. But they haven't.
The fact that trillion dollar companies exist is just scale, currency devaluation and stock market bubble. R&D, and high end hardware manufacturing and support is not cheap.
