Not only the boxes … but the iPhones and all the accessories in the boxes. Cables, charges, EarPods never removed.

Yes … I am that anal about my iPhones! 😵‍💫 And the Apple cases in their boxes.

🙋🏻‍♂️ Box saver here… I keep my retired iPhones (4, 5s, and X) in them. Usually around this time of year, for nostalgia’s sake, I’ll power them on and charge them… sometimes there’s still a security update for iOS 16 on the X. I have iPad and Mac boxes in my basement as well.

I got a security update for my iPhone 6S a few days ago!

I think I still have the box somewhere; probably underneath the iPhone 11 box (my current phone). I'll probably throw the 6S box away when I get the 17 - maybe even the 11 box. I don't need them.

Neither phone is worth anything (the 11 has a cracked screen and the 6S is, well, a 6S) so I won't be selling them; eventually just handing them over for recycling.

I also have an iPad mini first gen (stuck on iOS 9). I nailed the case to a wall and put the iPad in it, but haven't really found a use for it apart from running a clock!

I always wipe and rebox my current phone when I get a new one — but then it disappears into the family gadget ecosystem, box and all, to live out its days in greener pastures.

Suddenly feel that I might be odd because I keep all the boxes for expensive electronics until I get rid of the item. In my mind, I usually plan to sell older items and figure I'll get more money (or a faster sale) if I've still got the box/inserts etc. I always sell my old iPhones privately when I get a new one, and the box doesn't take up a lot of space so I don't see the harm. The MacBook boxes, on the other hand do take up a bit of room! I inherrited routine from my parents - my Mum still has a 2013 iMac box in her attic!

fun fact: apple hasn't released a iphone box showing the front camera since the iPhone 8 launched. all the other boxes moving from iPhone 8 to newer all showed the screen portion.

Absolutely shocking….looks like any other iPhone box🙄
I’m just patiently waiting for Gurman to confirm what the box for the 18 will look like😉

This made me look in my drawer to see what boxes I still have. iPhone 4S (first iPhone), 5S, 6 (boring box), XS Max, 13 pro max. Now waiting for blue 17PM

If I kept all my boxes I'd have no room. My sister-in-law who is OCD has kept all her old iPhones that look brand new in their original boxes when she upgrades just in case she needs it for a backup, I think she has five

I wish they'd do another iPhone 6 like box where it didn't have a picture of the phone. It was just an embossed shape of the phone coming out of the box. They should do that again, with an emboss of the iPhone, and of the camera bump 👹
That would cost Apple an additional $0.01ct, which would never go through financial department.

Can't tell from the pictures but did they not make the iPhone Air box any thinner than the others?

I used to have quite the collection until my wife made me throw them out right after I threw out a 300+ beer bottle collection (craft, microbrews, and special imports). Meanwhile, she has 7,000 pairs of shoes.

lol, sounds about right. Though to be fair, at least the shoes are useful. That is unless…… Dear God, I hope she doesn’t save all the boxes as well! 🤣

With the camera bump the Air is as thick as the regular 17 (difference is less than a tenth of a millimeter), so a thinner box seems unlikely if as usual the iPhone sits screen-down and bump-up in the box.
