It's like rehab with the cutest woman of the bunch.
as honest as that simile is (and it is !), in likewise full acknowledgement that this thread is an appreciation thread, i can point put that in the Japanese market, delivery of the base configuration in white of the iPhone Air now has an anticipated arrival date as late as October 2 for some areas, if you purchase it today.

OP:
never in my life have I seen so many posts about an iPhone that’s not even been released in people’s hands yet.

Also OP: creates a whole new thread about an iPhone that's not been released

LMAO! you really can't make this stuff up
To be fair most of the others are to create hate about the Air and point out it’s supposed flaws.

The ones who have preordered the Air will find out very soon what it’s like.

Roll on Friday 🤩

Cant wait to get the Air on a Friday. Coming from a 15 Pro and never wanted a plus-sized phone, I'm actually really looking forward to the Air because 1) it's lighter; and 2) it's thin design. I have the iPad Pro M4 and it feels so good holding it because it's so thin.

For me, as long as the battery lasts as long as my 15 Pro, I'll be more than happy with the phone.

Yes and how much if you include the bezels beteeen XR’s screen and the frame 😀

Those are the physical dimensions so they already include the bezels and frame.

Comparing the screen width, the Air is ~69.6 mm and the XR is ~64.5 mm. They basically got a XS Max sized display and managed to fit it into something a wee bit narrower than the XR.

Sold my iPhone 16 Pro and bought Air too. My tempered glass protector arrived to me today so I'm ready when I picked it up Saturday morning Apple store.

P.s No case only tempered glass protector as always with all my phone's in my life.

I’ll be waiting to see how it performs under load. The entire innards of the device are contained within the camera module so let’s see how well the Air dissipates heat given that it’s driven by the flagship A19 Pro.

I’ll be pushing the phone hard so that’s a major factor for me.

If - as your signature suggests - your current phone is iPhone 13, and that device copes with your hard pushing, it's almost guaranteed the Air will be just fine for you.

I plan on playing console level AAA games on the device which will cause heat issues. I have to wait until the reviews are out before pulling the trigger. If the phone isn’t practical for my use case, I’ll just have to go with the 17 Pro.

Ah I see. And guessing you don't play those games on your 13?

Not a gamer here so not really got knowledge of it but yeah, you may find the plateau gets hot if you're doing intense gaming on the Air - Pro might be better for that kind of thing. But we'll soon find out! Reviews drop in less than 3 hours which will give a good indication about gaming performance.

No, they are only available on the 15 Pro and above. I am talking about games such as Assassins Creed, Death Stranding, Resident Evil, etc… these are mainline console titles and not mobile games.

Ooh yeah. Be very interested to see if the Air's thermals could cope with that! My gut says no, you'd probably need the Pro and its vapour chamber.

Yep. It’s a new design, we’ve never seen an SoC within the camera module of a phone before. I would be surprised if the Air could handle prolonged periods of gaming. I’d still consider purchasing it if I were able to play for around 30 minutes without any throttling.

The 17 Pro is the more sensible choice though with an additional GPU core, far better thermals, surround sound, etc… it’s just an unappealing design compared to the Air. I suppose I would get used to it though.
