I still don't understand why that didn't happen with the iPhone 12 models and above. They can all reverse charge the original MagSafe battery pack, albeit at only 5W or 7.5W (can't remember the exact limit). But the hardware to reverse charge at least 5W is there, so why not allow it to be used for AirPods cases and/or Apple Watch?
You can put the Airpods case on an iPhone right now and see the problem; the positioning is not "clear" and it's easy to get off-kilter, and if you do get positioning wrong, it's awful for devices, I've had devices get meltingly hot on pre-Magsafe wireless chargers because the position was off by even a little. So I'd say it's best not to do reverse charging for Airpods, unless they decide to sell Airpods without Magsafe (but with Qi) but that's a downgrade.

Apple Watch I think needs a small coil within the main Qi coil, and I don't think they want to put in another coil just for the small chance you want to charge the Watch on the iPhone, yes it's a cool "show off feature", but it means you plug in one device and two devices are charging on each other and heating each other up and hurting each other's batteries.

Furthermore, the AW back and the charging pick are curved, not flat.

buy premium new phone that's their smallest, thinnest, lightest, most brilliantest phone ever and then tell us how it's so impossibly thin that it's adding a battery pack to make it a similar size to the actual normal phone.

It's like pulling down your trousers and making you applaud them.

Now if only we could get reverse charging on the iPhone to charge our AirPods and Apple Watch! Doesn't make sense because I thought I read somewhere that the current hardware they use has supported it for a generation or two.

I mean come on. I've never had the problem of positioning my airpods on my wireless charger.

Anyone get one yet? How much does it weigh?

233-165=68
But my original Apple MagSafe battery is 114g.

Bring back the original magsafe battery with USB-C and enable wired output.

I really dig my original battery bank. Perfect travel companion as it provides portable charging and desktop wired charging.

The similar sized Anker heats up like a furnace .... though it also does USB-C power out.

The perfect travel companion? It might be the Tesla power bank, which I also have.

Maybe a I have a battery bank issue lol ....

Why would I carry around an additional battery pack if I could just use this one for everything?
Well obviously you can’t use this one for “everything”

Magsafe layout only fits the Air, I bet the it’s also too small and slow for wired-charging iPad Pro or another iPhone.

There are tons of Qi2 certified battery pack with higher capacity, 30w power delivery, and a built in USB-C cable. You will carry the additional battery pack anyway, so pick a better one.

This MagSafe battery doesn’t fit any iPhone other than the Air because of the camera bumps, but what if the other iPhone is in a case?

I hope this is just an accessory and not needed because the Air's battery life is so poor. As MKBHD said in his hands on video, it is a red flag.

You pay $999 for the phone then an extra $99 for battery pack which when added to the phone removes the slim and light benefits and means you could get a pro for the same money.

Either get a pro, or save some cash and get the 17 which has been given a big upgrade.
