now i'm wondering if something is wrong with mine because I could never get that kind of use and i Have the always on turned off and other battery saving features. Hmm
As an all day Air user that loves it, I would say the biggest determining factor on battery is screen brightness (maybe followed by speaker if you use it). I am a full brightness on devices kind of person and the Air, while I love it, will not last all day with that kind of drain in my experience.

Anker has a similar Magsafe battery which works fine with a 17 Pro for example.
I have the Anker 5000 MagSafe UltraSlim battery - 2 of them (got them on sale). https://www.amazon.com/Anker-Ultra-Slim-Certified-Ultra-Fast-MagSafe-Compatible/dp/B0F8HXYD46/ref=sr_1_1_pp?crid=S0IPJMN7UMVY&sprefix=anker+5000+ultra+sli,aps,204&sr=8-1&th=1

I've been using these batteries since September 2025.

It's physically impossible. Because it's the exact same battery that's in the Air, the only way this works is if there's no heat loss.

It is astounding how this iPhone Air MagSafe battery doesn't get hot. It is insanely efficient - but correct, theoretically it shouldn't be able to charge from 0-100%. But its efficiency is crazy....

My Anker 5000 MagSafe batteries last less than half as long as the tiny Air MagSafe battery does. The efficiency difference is insane.

Not at all similar. Anker is not an extender. Apple magsafe is an extender

The iPhone Air MagSafe battery initially only charged the battery and didn't let the phone run off of it 100%. So when I had my iPhone Air - I was surprised to see my phone consuming charge cycles with the internal battery despite this attached to the Air (I was doing a lot of long walks (10 hours+)).

Eventually Apple has upgraded the firmware of the Air Magsafe battery to allow the phone to run off of it without touching the internal battery - so I use it regularly with my 17 Pro Max. It easily lasts 2.5x longer than the Anker 5000 MagSafe batteries - which is kinda weird, because it has a smaller capacity.

Now, in the battery settings, it shows charging paused and not shaded (not using internal battery) with the Air MagSafe battery - I love it - and use it all the time when at home to keep my 17 Pro Max at 80%.
