So, iPhone Air owners; did you switched from a Pro or Pro Max (or even a Mini ;) ) model before? How is your transition so far regarding display size and ergonomics?

Switched from a 16 Pro Max.

So far, only thing I miss is the dual speakers. The speaker is OK on the Air, and completely fine when using Instagram or Tik Tok, it only matters when you watch something landscape, it really sounds terrible then.

I have since noticed today that charging by USB C cable is slower, which is I'm irked by, but since I charge overnight, not the end of the world (I don't use MagSafe, I don't like how it leaves a circle mark on the back).

No FOMO on screen size, the Air has a pretty big screen.

Proud to be a beta tester for the iPhone Fold next year...wouldn't be surprised if they keep the Air name for the foldable...

Switched from a 14PM and loving it. The slightly smaller screen is not noticeable even when going back and forth between the devices. Battery life is great too, my 14PM with 84% health was starting to drain quite badly.

Screen size is fine. Form factor is great. Speaker isn't that good and I watched several "movie" trailers on Youtube to compare speakers.

The camera actually isn't that bad even for zooming. It's not good enough for print or for the web, but for documenting your adventures the zoom is fine.

I tested the measure tool against the pro and the pro was much more accurate. Overall, I am very impressed with the air. I do not like the glossy edges though. I wish it were matte so much I may even sand mine down. It's just so flashy when in your back pocket (as a guy).

Switched from a 13PM.

Screen size is very very similar (6,55” vs 6,68”).

Now I can’t see the 13PM like a premium device compared to the Air. This is another level. Every second I hold the device is another level of comfort.

The stereo speakers and wide lens are things that should be there, but the experience is much more importante for me. I insist, every second golding this device is a much better feeling. At least for me.

In terms of power and other aspects, the 13PM was still holding its own.

I just wanted to feel a new experience and boy am I feeling it…

I cheated and got both an Air and 17 Pro Max, switching from a 16 Pro Max. The 17 Pro Max feels very 'chunky' when compared to the Air. BTW the 16 Pro Max with Apple Silicon case is just slightly heavier (5 grams) than the 17 Pro Max with the new Apple Techwoven case. But I love the Air. Interestingly setting up both (17 Pro Max and Air) from full charge left the Air with 21% battery and 17 Pro Max with 70%. Not scientific but interesting to note. I am in the US so the 17 Pro Max does not have the SIM tray.

Switched from 16 Pro Max.

Delighted with everything - yes, including the speaker and the battery (first few days indexing also being factored in). The design and in-hand feel is just extraordinary and I've said this before but it's like the original iPod nano and iPhone X had a baby.

The front camera on zoom out mode works as a decent ultra wide alternative for any subject. I am, however, on the fence about whether I'm going to miss that Telephoto lens - if anything was to cause me to go back to the Pro it would be that.

Overall though I couldn't be happier and think it's something you have to experience to fully understand.

Switched from 14 PM. Size difference is somewhat noticeable to my old eyes but it's just one notch of text scale so I can live with it.

I have big hands so I actually can one-hand this one. I could with 14 PM as well if it was not so heavy to hold. Air is a delight to hold and use.

Also I make a cupped hand next to the front facing camera when listening in landscape. The mono speaker is louder and more centered then.

Also found out certain higher pitched ringtones do sound louder with this speaker by a very significant margin, so I set a very loud high-pitched ringtone and it's now 1-1 with my old 14 PM. I couldn't be happier.
