I really am liking mine more than my brick of a 16pro, but I miss the zoom lens, and would prefer it to not have been wider and taller than the pro....

Most people I know who have purchased new iPhones recently have resorted to buying the cheapest model, either the 16e or 17e. All they care about is what apps can run, and they all run the same apps.

A bunch of nerds palming a thin phone. Geezus. I upgraded from a 15 just for the display on the current pro. The Air needs a better screen.

I think the world is divided into two groups of people: those that can see that massive fugly camera bump and those that, somehow, can't.

I mean, tastes and priorities vary, so I'm not going to argue with actual Air owners who say it's wonderful but, unfortunately, first impressions count, and the market seems to have spoken.

If they could lose the camera bump, just have a tiny rear camera for snapshots and QR codes I'd see the point - not every user wants a phone as a DSLR replacement. Seems to me they tried to combine an ultra-thin phone with a high-end camera and ended up with something that is neither.

Lovely phone, was very tempted to grab one on Amazon UK for £699 recently. If the Air 2 drops in price I will definitely get one to accompany my 17 Pro (but more so to add to my collection).

The iPhone Air is amazing and i love it, but, i have a MacBook Pro and iPad Pro as well so my needs for a phone is to just be a phone and the air (thin and light) is more appealing than the pro (bulk and heavy), and that's unlike many people (most of them) where the iPhone is the ONLY "computer" they own, that's why they want the best apple has to offer, hence, the pro line.

If apple will introduce the iPhone Pro Max Ultra XDR to the market tomorrow (not the fold, I don't know what the reaction to this form factor will be) it will be the new number 1 just because it is the best of the best and the customer 3-5 years next "computer".

I'm glad it isn't selling well. Thinner phones are not the move and the performance isn't good enough for every day use and it's good sales are showing what people like more.
Tell me you haven't actually used one without telling me you haven't actually used one...

The Air has better performance than the 17 and nearly the same level as the Pros. The problem is the (lack of) value proposition stemming from the $1000 starting price for only one camera, a single speaker and subpar battery life.

I wasn't keen on it until I saw it in the Apple Store and felt it in my hand. It's a beautiful device. But the camera and battery limitations are exactly why I moved on from my 13 mini after only a year. I want the best camera and all-day+ battery, and the Air has neither.

To date, i've only ever seen one of these in the wild, and that was just two days ago.

Most people just don't care to have a thinner phone at the expense of features. it's really that simple. its the opposite of the neo, low features with a high price. you can't do that combo.

I guess it's a good phone by itself, but compared to the other options, it's the worst one. There are mostly 3 kinds of people:
  • "I want the cheapest phone I can get" → Android or some 2 year old iPhone I got at a discount somewhere or 2nd hand
  • "I want the best value for money" → iPhone 17
  • "I'm rich and I want the best phone to show of how rich I am / I actually need all the features in existence" → iPhone Pro
The following category doesn't really exist:
  • "Money is no issue, but I'm still going to get the most compromised iPhone despite all of the other options being better and me being able to afford them" → iPhone Air

Oh but sales were supposedly OFF THE CHARTS. "iPhone Air sells out in China" "iPhone Air more popular than 16 Plus"

I have a feeling it's similar BS with the Neo - wide availability but claiming "we can't keep up with demand" yeah sure, bro. Keep pumping that stock with statements like "it was the best March ever for Mac sales" hahaha

It's like those sports announcer idiots saying "He's the first NBA player under 7-feet tall to hit four 3-point shots on a Tuesday with a Full Moon"
