I’ve done some more testing with my Philips Hue stuff and it’s all working fine here. There is a bit of a delay occasionally for two or three seconds but that’s it.
There is also a delay with turning on and off any sockets I have. Noticeably longer than with the Hue kit but it still works.

I fixed my hue stuff by resetting the HomePod but checking text messages only works sporadically - no discernible pattern.
Are messages still working for you? Mine are still not. New beta is out today so will test and report back.
Just tested and all working perfectly. My HomePod is on the latest 14 beta 4 software and my iPhone is on public 14.1.
I’m asking things like ‘hey Siri do I have any new messages’, and ‘hey Siri read out my last message’. Both work brilliantly, currently at least.
Seems to be working here now also since the new 14.2 beta and iOS 14.1.

Works most of the time now but it still sporadically does the “just a sec... still trying... this is taking too long” thing. No discernible pattern.
I get that on all of my devices with Siri at least 50% of the time, the worst offender being my AirPods Pro (that fails 90% of the time and I have to ask again) when listening to music on my iPhone. I think that’s just down to Siri being the biggest piece of **** Apple have ever released. Dreadful is not the word.
