Who cares? Seriously, are we going to get an article like this each time a new company in the US decides to sell an Apple product? This is not interesting news.

If the pricing is going to be exactly the same then why not just go for the ease of buying at AT&T or an apple store?

The only thing that surprised me about this announcement was this:

Target is also planning to sell the iPhone as part of its partnership with Radio Shack to deploy mobile phone centers in its stores.

This is just too weird. So Target's going to have a mini Radio Shack in its stores? Or the other way around?

Exactly. Real news would be if the iPhones were being sold UNLOCKED.

Yes, COSTCO rules. And if you have an Executive Membership AND use your COSTCO American Express Card....hey presto, double rebate!!!!!!

Whoa! Double rebate! What would that add up to on a entry level iPad?

Any COSTCO haters out there? If so, go back to hating Wal mkt. Leave us alone.

I wish there were a Costco near me, or an Apple store. Thank God for Walmart though.

What makes my comment-hate filled, but all the other comments about WalMart are only "dislike-filled?"

Somehow, I doubt those comments are aimed at the building. Ultimately, the company and the store are people. It seems the biggest distain is aimed at those customers who frequent WalMart. I am a WalMart customer, by the way. I am well-groomed, have a full time job and a masters degree, and drive a car kept in good repair. I have three Apple computers, an iphone, an ipad, and four ipods. (Yes I'm defensive).

Read the comments from yesterday's WalMart story. Then tell me which side of this discussion sounds whiny.

WalMart is not just a bunch of buildings. It is a company, and I think that these comments generally stem from a dislike of all things WalMart, starting at the top. I personally have absolutely no problem with people shopping at WalMart, except perhaps for a few reservations about supporting the company. Why do you think this is the third result on Google for WalMart: http://walmartwatch.com? There's a reason that WalMart has such a bad reputation.

For me, there is little distinction between WalMart and Sam's Club. I don't care that Sam's Club members pay a fee. That's silly. I also don't think that Apple needs to be selling it's products at these places. Do I mind? Not really. I just don't think it's really necessary, and it does dilute the Apple experience.

Would an iPad be considered part of the "return anytime" policy? If so that would be a perk...

Target in Rosemead,CA is already selling them... Walked in today and saw them under the iPod display!

I am afraid Apple will have to start selling its stuff in Family Dollar stores to sustain its share price.

Heh - - nice spin there Ugg!

...and the average price of a car is $1,150,000*.

(*Taking the average of the most expensive car (Bugatti Veyron at $2.3 million) and the least expensive car (Tata Nano at $2,500).)

Hmmm, maybe you misread....

The only thing I was comparing was Apple's iPads to MacBooks. Not el cheapo no name netbooks to corporate supercomputers.

Admittedly, the figure of $700 was pulled out of the air but it's by no means unreasonable.

Perhaps you could clarify what I'm spinning?
