well in an attemp to get mms etc working, i am now going to restore the phone using the 3.0 b3 ipsw files and hopefully will be ok. i dont mind re appying all the aps, it takes a while but maybe it will work better then just updating did.
hope it works..

Im having a new problem with wifi in b3. It wont show its connected in the status bar even though its says it is in settings. Even when I go to use it, it seems slow like its still using 3g. Anyone else??

Build 3 was good for me the day I installed it when it was released. And then surprisingly, the performance started to degenerate. I did not observe this phenomenon in the previous 2 builds. So, today, the iPod function decided to give up on me. Plugged into iTunes, and there was a syncing error. The information in iTunes' iPhone "info" section indicated that the songs were present, but iPod app failed to detect any songs present when the app is launched.

Did a clean restore and its all good again. Snappy SMS, minimal delay in transiting between functions. So I'm just going to observe again if this is an isolated incident or a repeat occurance.

Google Mobile Apps stopped working from me. It starts and then closes. Another problem that happens is on the dialpad the green CALL button disappears. So, I can't call anyone who is not in my address book unless I restart the phone.

Last night my iPod app said I had no music but the memory said it was there. Reboot didn't help. It did a quick sync and it came back. Come on beta 4

my b3 works better than any of the other betas..im surprised at all these complaints

I'm not sure why there would be complaining. Beta 3 is intended for developers to test their applications and not to be run as the main iPhone OS. It's just odd that all these people run it (many of whom are not developers) and complain that it's not a feature complete bug free release. *sigh*

MMS doesn't work - the button doesn't even show up.

Did you update your carrier .ipcc Plist? If you have done so, then MMS should be optional toggle-able from your Settings.

There is a difference between complaining, and highlighting. If all the minor bugs as we are "complaining" now are highlighted to Apple, the summer release will be polished up immaculately than had there been no feedback. Feel free to stay out of this thread if 3.0 discussions bug you so much.

Thats how i see it, as long as you're not just pointing it out, and are telling Apple its all helpful.

Its been working really well for me even though its still beta, just some UI tweaks to do (like on the onscreen keyboard the Q and P keys have 'lost' their shadows)

And updating the plist files made MMS available to me, its been a godsend to be able send my friends pictures again!

only major thing ive noticed so far is the d/l and installation of apps seems insanely slow. still cant get the mms to work.
