iPhone bricked. Motherboard change?

It you are on 4.3.3 now, just jailbreak it with redsn0w and it will hactivate the phone for you which will add Cydia to your phone and bring your phone to home screen.

I ran redsn0w, I have home screen, and cydia, but I still have no network.

One last question: If I don't want my phone to be jailbroken what kind of gevey SIM should I buy to have carrier network. Would that work?

there is no gevey sim for the 3gs. Also there is no way to remove the iPad baseband at this time. So you would have to at least use cooked firmware from redsn0w or sn0wbreze.
