Why would January 1 be special to this type of app? Humans notice year changes but don't programs store dates as serial numbers since a starting date years ago?

No wonder, my alarm didn't go off today! WTF.

thanks for the heads up!! would of missed my get together with the family!

That's why I refuse to use cell phone alarm clocks and stick to a regular, cheap, plain alarm clock that knows only hours and minutes, and has no clue as to what day or year it is.

THIS STUPID BUG GOT ME THIS MORNING!

This is my last day of overseas holidays and it made me sleep in and miss picking up my girlfriend. I also have to catch a plane tomorrow morning.

Luckily I know now not to trust my ********** $999 AUD (outright) phone to do the job of a $1 alarm clock.

How does this bug even work? What is different about today and tomorrow that causes the alarm to not function? I am having a really hard time understanding how this bug is even possible. And how did someone figure it out ahead of time?

People at Apple are very creative :D

It worked fine for me this morning (GMT +3). I have both a recurring and non-recurring alarm set and both went off.

Really!?

At first I thought this was a joke. But sure enough my alarm doesn't work. I manually set the date to the third and bingo the alarm goes off.

Who and how did they figure out that it works again on the third? I bet it was an inside Easter egg job. I mean what's the significance of a two day lapse?

This is extremely embarrassing. I noticed this, but thought it was an error on my part... RDF, I guess.

Time zone bugs, and now year rollover bugs..

Sloppy QA.

Doesn't inspire a lot of confidence.

Is this Y2K all over again?

Glad I check Macrumors before bed, I've got to be up at 8am to catch a plane! But I do have a backup radio clock alarm.

No problems on 4.0

Just confirmed this is not an issue on iOS 4.0. I set an alarm for 12:02AM, and it went off right after the new year here on the west coast.

Same for me.

Never upgraded beyond 4.0.X b/c the new iTunes blows, airprint got nerfed, and the new signal bars are a practical joke.

This is getting ridiculous! This is the 2nd time they screw up the alarms. Is it that hard to get a simple thing as a clock get done right?

because it's 1/1/11 and the iPhone get's mixed up not knowing if that is european time or american time
