I hope the volume issue is to be resolved with the next software update. The connector is exactly the same as the original set. So I think it's just a matter of make the software understand what to do with the signal the volume control sent.

What I would like to know is; does the microphone and the button work on the iPhone 3G same as the original set? So far I hear different stories. I am thinking about purchasing these headphones but I would like to know for sure the button and the mic works. I know the volume control doesn't work, but I don't care. The buttons on the side of the iPhone are also to be operated easily.

The button and mic works prefectly with the iPhone. I'm really pleased with mine.

I still hope you're right about a software update, though.
