Hahaha alright,

http://www.wired.com/gadgetlab/2009/11/5-nifty-remote-apps/ Come on, if in 2008 they were thinking of that, do you think in 2011 they wont have it?
Those apps are completely different than what the Apple Remote app does. The Apple Remote app will NEVER be on the Android platform. But, if you had ever used it or had bothered to Google it, you would know that.

Man, i didnt know you needed ratings and play counts... Wait... the iOS doesnt even show your play counts :) Actually... you can change your folders to playlist so android just exports them as playlists...
Why is what -I- want so important to you? Good for you if you don't need or want ratings - I do. You keep having to "defend" against what I like. Why is it so hard to simply accept that I like what I like, and you like what you like. Grow up.

Also, you could simply drag and drop the garage band file to your android... you make it sound like theres a giant process involved in it.
Giant process? Far from it. Simply grants the level of customization and ease of use that I like. And drag & drop the "GB file?" Sure, if a Garage Band file was a ringtone

And again, to quote you, experience and Google will take you far.

Hello everyone... I have followed the iPhone since the iPhone 1, but as time passes by, I am beginning to question few things about apple

Let us take first a neutral standpoint.
Let's say both used the same OS.
Technically speaking, and honestly speaking; would not the samsung galaxy S2, or anything else would be a better buy?
I mean, I am by no means the brain behind all tech devices, but I know something.
1080p, super amoled plus, NFC, Dual processors, HSPA 21+ speeds, wouldnt the Samsung be a clear choice?
But then again, the iOS has killed all OS's and it is something that must not be factored out. Also, android market is clearly behind Apple's, but it is catching up. Quickly.
I have used the Galaxy S for 4 months, which I just sold for moving purposes, and it definitely is an amazing phone if it had a better touch interface, higher voice quality, and market.
So I know I will buy a phone in sept 2011 (when school starts), but in the period of 4 months, the Android market, the Samsung UI with touch interface might at least catch up to Apple's with Gingerbread upgrades, and a improvement in less fragmentation.
So theoretically speaking, if this continues, and only a "iphone 5" is released with minor cosmetic, an A5, 8mp with 720p, wouldnt it be better to go off with a samsung?

So unless we see a huge revamp in the WWDC on iOS 5, with an all cosmetic upgrade with major changes (except 4g), and perhaps NFC, what is the motivation for apple fans like us to continue using Apple's phone except from loyalty?

i do like the Android OS, but i like iOS better, just preference mainly...but other strong points for me, include having my itunes library on my phone, and the larger software selection on the app store... it's all preference imo

It's the Total package

Had Droid X and liked it, but the IPhone 4 is just better FOR ME. Everyone has a personal reason why they like or dislike their phones. I like the feel of the Iphone and the technical competence. The bluetooth in my car now works perfectly whereas it didn't with the Android OS. My battery life is better. Sure there are some things that I don't have now, like a very good notification system and better voice integration, but I have confidence that it will be addressed in IOS 5. I'm sticking with my IP4 and when IOS 5 comes, I will load it and evaluate it in my IP4 vs a new IP5. If you think a piece of hardware is better, go for it. You'll be back.

1) Really...? I am giving you 5 apps that control EVERYTHING but you want one specific?
2) If you let me like what i like, why are you answering? you too. Grow up and accept.
3) Okay, I would so care less about GB.

You know? Im done, I seriously thought I could get some feedback, but I guess it is just that if someone says "galaxy or samsung or android" you just freak out.

Have a good life.

So what's the dilemma here? You want to get the newest Android flavour of the month but you are scared that Apple might top it somehow?

Don't worry, they won't. Get the Samsung and be happy with your 1080p, NFC, great notifications and whatever else you hold so dear to your heart.

Here's a forum full of people who have paid a premium price for average-spec products for years and you're asking them to compare phones based on tech specs alone? Yeah, that won't really work.

@OP: To answer a question you posed originally, even if two phones ran the same OS I am not sure I would always go for the higher spec. I would absolutely go for the best user experience. It sounds like many people here believe Android on the new Samsung phone is equal to or better than iOS, but it boils down to what you value. I have had three mobile phones, one of which was a Samsung (a clam shell that still works even though it went through the washer several times) and one of which is an iPhone. I believe both Samsung and Apple make excellent hardware, but perhaps Apple's is a little more durable.

As for the eco-system argument, I believe iOS currently has the edge, but I cannot help but wonder if phones will soon become so powerful that connectivity with desktops/laptops will be irrelevant. And it is not as though Android cannot exploit Bluetooth and WiFi to allow for similar functionality to iTunes. Thus, I am leaning toward getting the next iPhone, but I can see a point at which Apple will have to wow us again or they'll start losing market share like they did with the Mac.

OP
You were getting feedback but because it's not what you wanted you have decided to throw your toys out of the pram and storm off in a sulk?

FYI, the 5 apps you listed were completely different to the Apple remote app (which controls Apple TV and iTunes libraries remotely via WiFi), so your answer was like someone asking for a screwdriver and you passing them 5 hammers and saying "there you go!"
