Massachusetts announced its plans to go digital the same week that a bunch of tea got dumped into the harbor. Still waiting...

This could make life so much easier but our backwards as state and US government (for other reasons) want us to live in the 1800s.

I use this pretty often at airports these days. My home airport PHX never has an issue, and the TSA agents often comment about how "cool" I am. I've even had success with some of the smaller regional airports as well like Burbank

I have been using the digital DL in iOS since its debut in our state. My DL is RealID compliant and so does the digital ID. Fortunately all the airports I frequently fly to support digital ID.

This is how I use it every time: upon walking up to a TSA officer, I will announce that I am going to use the digital ID. Often times they will say "you can try, but I have no guarantee that it will work". And then I go ahead and pull out the ID card from iOS Wallet, tap on the TSA kiosk, and iOS will do a FaceID check to confirm my identity. After a couple seconds the TSA officer will confirm the verification and comments "wow that actually worked!"

I have been traveling ever since without the need to pull out my ID from my backpack at the airport.

I had my Maryland license added even before BWI officially accepted the digital ID (they had the hardware but wasn’t working for the first few weeks). Been traveling with this for years now. It is handy but in a traffic stop, police still asks for the physical ID. The absurd vast majority of private venues still asks for the physical ID. And I’m still waiting for the passport ability to be added. Then, yes, I know I can securely be held hostage when this whole system gets hacked 😂

Riighhhhhhttttt, always under the guise of "convenient and quick". These "features" are just another step in getting people closer to accepting the satanic mark of the beast. People need some serious waking up to do. Remember cash will always be king, and physic will always be better than anything "DIGITAL" aka artificial and fake and doesn't exist.

Then get off the internet. It's totally satanic. I should know, I'm Satan. I command you to be on the internet and comment on Macrumors if you like me!

This doesn’t mean anything to me at airports yet. I always fly out of ORD and I’m enrolled in TSA+ through United. I don’t need to even show my ID. They use your face. Love it.

What I find amazing is that for some reason religious types are linking digital ID with "being satanic" and "being the mark of the beast" and all kinds of other nonsense. There's serious pushback from the children of the corn types on this.
The mark of the beast is nothing physical.

Since I will be able to add my passport sometime this year, I really don’t care when my state will implement it.

About the only cool thing our state gov has ever done. When you tilt the phone it looks like a hologram and there's an astronaut that appears. Neil Armstrong used to use my dry cleaner, they've got a signed photo of him on the wall with an old receipt too signed "Neil A".

We've had it for several years in my state. The only place I've used it is at the MMJ store. My license had a crack in it so by law they couldn't accept it, but they could accept the digital version on my phone. Yay, I didn't walk away sad and I got right on the state website and ordered a new license.

As tech-minded as I am, I'd still much rather reach into my wallet and hand anyone who needs it, my actual drivers license.
