Interesting how stuck the rumor media is on the name "iPhone Fold," when we have to know from experience that Apple is extremely unlikely to choose such a lackluster product name for their new flagship iPhone. Some lessons will never be learned, I guess.
What else would they call it? Nobody knows what Apple is going to name it so how would the rumor media know how to refer to it? For now the only thing they can refer to it by is what it’s going to be…..a folding iPhone from Apple, hence the iPhone fold….. or would you prefer that every rumor media give it a different name based on their guess of what it’s going to be?

Honestly I am not sure how far we can trust Gurman. He has sometimes the most contradicting and wild rumors especially about Siri release.

My decision to buy an iPhone ultra will be based largely and its ability to record spatial video. If it can, I'm likely in. If it cannot, I will look for a phone from my Apple that can.

Wait until gen 3, gen 1 and gen 2 are a little... underwhelming. Remember apple watch gen 1?, gen 2?, until gen 3 it became decent.

Simply calling it a folding iPhone works. No need to create a proper noun that is bound to be wrong. Funny, because just today, MR published an article reporting that "Fold" was unlikely to be Apple's name choice for the product (as if anyone really thought it would be). In this article, it is called "Apple's first foldable" and the product name Ultra is suggested as more likely. Anyway, just the latest in the long history of the Apple rumor mill settling on misnomers. Easily avoided, hardly ever is.

Serious question:

Why is this so hard for Apple? Are they doing something "so much better" than the top foldable phones in the market today? All I've seen is a no crease display which was later downgraded to "much less noticeable crease"

Its gonna launch on time with all the design faults. Thanks BETA users, still haven't learned from the AVP-Fiasco.

But where's the fun in that? Haha!!

I've had every Apple Watch since Series 0 (0, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, Ultra, Ultra2, Ultra3).

Yes, the Series 0 was underwhelming compared to later models (especially when cellular appeared in S3) but I wouldn't trade the thrill of getting that Series 0 for anything.

I'll be on the iPhone Flip/Fold/Ultra train as soon as it leaves the station. And then dreaming of the next gen, haha!!

What do you mean “on time” and “delayed”?

The thing hasn’t even been announced yet! As far as anyone outside of Apple is concerned, it doesn’t exist yet!

Therefore, it cannot be delayed or on time! Only Apple internally truly knows if it’s either of those, according to Apple’s timetables that are obviously not public!

“folding iPhone” vs “iPhone fold” you’re just splitting hairs there

Fine, we'll call it iFold.

Funny, that. When Apple was about to release their first tablet computer, some in the Apple rumor mill (including this site) persisted in calling it the "iSlate" right up to its debut -- without thinking for a moment, I guess, about what a terrible name this would be for the product.
