I travel a lot (20-30 countries a year).

A foldable appeals to me because I hate lugging more gadgets than necessary.

I've always wanted a device the size of a tablet, but that can fit in my pocket. One that I could have multiple apps open on, or just one that I'm not relegated to the mobile experience when using a browser, maps, photos, email, or word processing app.

A phone can't do that. Neither can a tablet. But a foldable phone can.

And I will absolutely pay a premium price for that.
Bingo. This is why I enjoy my Pixel 10 Pro Fold. The folding technology is mature enough at this point. It's not for everyone but it's a wonderful option to have amongst many out there.

No one is gonna buy a phone thats $2,000 or more......this is why no one likes apple. Ive been saying theyre gonna go out of business by 2030 cuz theyve been bad with ios updates and phones. Tim cook ruined apple after jobs died sadly
Funny stuff

This foldable will likely sell out and Apple has just broken records for 17 series sales and will be the top selling phone brand in the world shortly yet you think they will go out of business

Good one

That size would have been something..... five or six years ago.

See so much foldable hate on MR (from people who will likely line up on launch day when Apple releases a foldable), but its a great concept that others have really pefected and started to get right.

My job is very mobile, and an iPhone has so many pain points a foldable would solve - but this cited is awful. Do better than the iPad Mini fold Apple.

In fairness, the 17 series was worth upgrading to and the upgrade cycle has extended for most people to be 3-4 years... which lines up with sales history of the past few generations. Next year I bet upgrades are flat to down. The regular iPhones finally got enough big boy features to be a compelling upgrade.

Tablet sized iPhones already exist and people put them in their pocket all of the time.

You just wants a size of screen that is too large for the average pocket without folding it.

What you want is a foldable iPad that fits on your pocket and can take calls as well.
Well hopefully you get lucky and Apple creates such a device for you.

Foldables aren’t supposed to replace slab phones they’re just the next form factor. Pretending they’re useless because they’re new is the same tired take people had about smartphones, tablets, and literally every leap forward. If someone needs a power point to understand why a phone that expands is useful, that’s on them, not the tech. An Apple foldable doesn’t need your permission to exist. Some of us like seeing tech move forward instead of waiting for the world to freeze exactly where we’re comfortable.
Look at the iPhone 1 keynote.
Jobs told us why an iPhone is amazing and why we need it.

I am not pretending something is useless because it’s new. What I am saying is, if Apple make a foldable phone they need to sell it to us. Like Jobs did with the iPhone 1. Tell us why we need it and how we can not live without it.

Until that happens it’s just a tech gadget. Will not have any kind mass appeal

For me a smart set of specticals would be much better than a folding iPhone. Having a heads up display would be sweet. The glasses would have to look like a conventional set of glasses.

I made up glass like this in 1993 but with Pamala Anderson bikini image inside the lenses.
those are still in a bar in Montréal and are used on her birthday, new movie and other events.
