iPhone Fold Likely to Ship Later Than iPhone 18 Pro

The new foldable iPhone won't ship to customers in the same September timeframe as the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, Bloomberg's Mark Gurman said today in a Q&A session.

Apple will likely ship the iPhone Fold to customers after the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max come out in September, but Gurman did not provide a specific availability timeline.

Earlier this month, Barclays analyst Tim Long suggested that the foldable iPhone won't ship until December, suggesting a roughly three-month delay between the iPhone Fold and the iPhone 18 Pro models. Apple has done a split launch before, shipping one model later than another. When the iPhone X launched in 2017, it shipped out in November, while the iPhone 8 and 8 Plus introduced alongside it came out in September as usual.

It is entirely possible Apple will ship the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max in September and then follow it with the iPhone Fold sometime between September and the end of the year. Back in December, Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo said that the iPhone Fold would be in short supply, suggesting manufacturing difficulties. Kuo expects supply constraints into 2027, and supply problems or manufacturing issues could explain why Apple would delay the iPhone Fold's shipment date.

Even if Apple does plan to ship the iPhone Fold after September, we can still expect to see it introduced during the annual iPhone event that will feature the iPhone 18 Pro models. Apple will likely announce all three phones at once, and then bring them to customers when they're ready.

Figured it would slip to at least November. I picked up the iPhone X on my first and only visit to Apple Park in November 2017. Where does the time go?
 
If it is happening it will be announced in June at WWDC so that developers have time to adapt their apps. If it isn’t released in September than it will give developers a couple of extra months to make their design changes.

A Q/A session? Gurman must be under some kind of pressure to regurgitate all his rumors ... I am hoping Apple will feed him more false leaks ...
 
It will come with a software update out of the box. Thanks BETA users testing this product with their hard earned money. Thats courage Apple.

Because Gurman said so? Apple hasn't even confirmed they are working on this. It could all be testing and they scrap the entire project. Unlikely, but I rather not get my hopes up. If it does come out in December, it will probably sell out within the first few minutes of the store going online and the dates will push into next year anyway.
 
I just don't see it happening... I think it will launch at the same time...
But I can see Apple now breaking things into 2 launch windows going forward... Between the regular model, the pros, the air, the e, and now the fold? Other than the E, that's a lot of phones to hit at one time.. And then we have rumors of the 20th anniversary phone... will that be a new category? 3 new designs in 3 years.. 4 (if you can't the pro's as a redesign this year)
I just can't see it happening lol...
 
This suck, I typically buy a new phone every year. It's the one thing I do for myself, and now has become tradition. And now like the iPhone X, I'll spend a lot more on an iPhone that I will use less 3 or more months less.

Apple did confirmed they are working on the next iphone 18 pro for September? No, that means based on your logic they are not doing it? come on..
Is not just Gurman, its too late for not be this year...i already told you because we have CAD files/draws and you understand because Gurman says so? Its almost April, the design is set in stone. Its coming.
I never had issues with iPhone X...so i dont expect to have issues with this if i want to buy it , if you are pre-ordering since the first day. Low stock for sure, but is not an $500-1000 product...its over 2000, so low stock but a lot fewer people who want to buy this. Its coming this year 100%

Its happening , like they did with the iPhone X that was in stores 1 month later to iphone 8
