If you read the TOS the 5GB cap is there. It gives them the option to charge. They just never did.

Read it again. That only applies to tethered plans. There is no mention of a 5GB cap on non-tethered smartphone plans. This has been discussed and resolved.

Also, to the guy who said to get an iPod touch... an iPod touch can't make phone calls or send text messages from anywhere.

VERY few cities have ubiquitous WiFi. Even SF tried and failed. So yeah...WiFi is not EVERYWHERE.

In Toronto, you can barely find any Wi-Fi at all. Only something like one tenth of the downtown core has access, and that's the downtown core!

I think you can change the APN, but not sure about IMEI.

And whatever city you happen to live in does not mean the rest of the world has the same facilities.

I've been using my iphone for 5months, i bought it from someone else.
No data plan. Then today I woke up with a text message "ATT REQUIRES IPHONE TO HAVE A DATA PLAN WE HAVE ADDED THE NECESSARY PLAN"

Then i tried going on the internet without wifi and it worked!

What do I do?! I can't pay 30$+ a monthD:

This info has been on this forum for months. Do a search. It's mandatory..... at least, from what I've read.
