iPhone has 17GB of "Other"?!

I can't get the app to work either...after paying, no less. Took two days to squeeze a license code out of them (ridiculous). Now, it launches, but without control buttons, even when the iPad is connected:

I've never been so ticked off by a paid app without even using it.

I think I had to restart everything ...iPhone, Macbook to get it to work properly. and iTunes. I can't remember if I had to close iTunes and then star the app so it connected the phone there first. it took a bit of work but i managed to do a clean.

Either I am better at things now or the program isn't as good since it didn't find a whole logo of difference in clean space.

Also, oddly the iTunes said around 7gb free and Phone Clean said 5gb...but then cleaned it to about 7GB.

Is "manage music and videos manually" activated? Delete all music from your phone via iTunes, sync, disconnect, reconnect, is "other" still there?

Deactivate manual handling of music, sync, still there?

If it's already deactivated, activate it, sync. Anything?

I know it's really late, but I just wanted to say that I did as the OP suggested, restoring completely and then syncing my apps and my music separately and it worked. No clue why, I guess it's a bug in 7.0. Now doh I can't have all my playlists working properly. E.g. the playlist where I only have the music from the past year is showing up empty, but from what I've seen I'm not the only one that has this problem. Maybe with 7.1...

I'm running 7.0.4 and last week I had absolutely no other data at all.
