It is a great phone and those of us who work in the industry have known about this phone for awhile now and I have had the possibly to get to play with this phone for a day and its a beast. Its probably the best android phone to date, possibly the best we will see all year. It does do a lot of things the iphone will not due. Its a great phone no doubt and people should realize that just because it does not have an apple on it does not make it worthy of the iphone because at the moment it's honestly not much of a comparison to the iphone. Apple has a long road the next few months to get back up to speed with ios 5 and start competing again. They are losing market share rapidly and it will continue because of phones like the G2 and all the 4G phones being released. But from what I have heard, Apple has something up its sleeve with ios 5 that will be pretty special!!

The competition is here to stay and the next iPhone release better not be just a medeocre upgrade from the current iPhone. Dual core isn't gonna cut it, a complete revamp of the stale iOS and radical enhancements better be on thier way if iPhone is going to keep up with the competition.

Mountain? LOL.

First and foremost Android SUCKS.

The original is always the best, that's no different here.

Apple sets the stage and gets it near right before release.

Samsung and other companies throw ***** at the walls over and over at the expense of the consumer and hope something sticks. They're playing catch up all the time, with quality, service, there's no innovation other than copying Apple's years of research and ingenuity. Not cool at all. Waste of time, money, frustration, and a step backwards in quality and OS.

Android is the same with it's wh*red out OS...

If you like it buy it. With all the crap other companies make I'm happy I'm done with that, Apple all the way, the original and the best.

It looks good and the OLED screen is definitely the best thing it has going for it.

However, the developers of the OS looked like they took some, ahem, "inspiration" from Apple. Until they can reinvent the experience like Apple did, they won't have a truly competitive and original product. Apple will just come out with something better in iOS 5 for everyone else to copy, just like the industry did with the iPhone and iPad.

A bunch of overhyped specs that most people will never need or care about inside a body of cheap plastic. Yawn!!

What can survive a fall better? Cheap plastic or glass? I say the cheaper device will end up shattered in pieces. Oh yeah and the 3G and 3GS were'nt made out of cheap plastic, they were made out of some miraculous material that Steve Jobs himself invented.

Good point, they make plastic phones for teens/kids and stainless steel/glass for adults that don't drop things all the time. Yes the previous phones had plastic but we are talking about the current gen version of these phones here correct?

You may be on to something. Let's stop using glass for cups, dishes, windows, light bulbs etc since it "breaks when dropped".....or.....you could just not drop stuff or put a case on things you tend to drop all the time.

Yet he owns the iPhone 4. This is too funny.

The back glass can be replaced for $29... It's cheaper than the majority of cases from the Apple store.

Does it come with a picture of a shiny half eaten apple on the back? If not I'm not getting one!

Impressive performance, but is not comparable to iOS as it's ridiculously complicated.

Also has the guy in the video got small hands or is the phone ridiculously large?

On howardforums, I just saw the Netflix announcement that the mobile version is going to finally be available for certain Android phones. Guess what? Galaxy S2 wasn't anywhere on that list.
If you can't give me netflix on the go, you're not even a contender.

I agree, I left my Nexus One behind in order to get Netflix on my phone and tv-out to my big screen (along with other reasons).

If Netflix can get their app on the Infuse 4g I might crack though ;)

And no, I'm not looking to root my phone...

There is a reason the phone is not on the list yet and yes it is capable of Netflix and it will have it. But in the same sentence it has hdmi out which the iphone does not!! What's more important?? There is two sides to everything so I am just saying the phone is incredibly nice, very fast, smooth and attractive and it WILL be Netflix compatible and it has hdmi out. So I will leave it at that.

What is the purpose of your post?

I've got it! You're what my dad used to call a **** (feces) stirrer! Agitate until you create a stink.

The name of the forum is MacRumors, not SamsungRumors.

Yawn....

wow after reading this Apple just filed for bankruptcy! :rolleyes:I believe Apple is higher up that mountain and Samsung is trying to climb up and knock it down. they have a ways to go to knock the iPhone off. ;) Many Many have tried before!

So basically OP all you're doing with your post is trolling correct?

The iPhone 4 is built much better than the SGS2. The weight shows it too.

But seriously, regardless of whether you own an ip4 or SGS2, you all end up putting it in a cheap plastic cover anyway. :p

Ha!

So true, at least for me. Had an AT&T iPhone that was babied from launch until February, never in a case, and it got beat to all heck. Since I got my Verizon one, it's lived in a case with a screen protector.

Same story for me. Ever since I scratched my original iPhone in 2007, all my sub-sequential iPhones were never removed from their cases. Same with my Galaxy S II right now.

Wow, I hate it. I really, really, hate it. I don't like the design; it looks too wide and too tall to be comfortable, although the screen size is nice. And, I don't like the look of Android either. Galaxy S2, not for me.
