OP's video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4n2Kp4ekWNs&feature=player_embedded

the website that loads on 4:51, you can see that samsung edited the video to make the website seem to load really fast.

all in all, the evo 4g seems to be similar without the customization, keep in mind, the evo is my first android and it seems too clunky. i dont know but if that phone is as responsive as ios it could be a buy instead of the iphone 5.:D lol jk im still buying the iphone 5

The iPhone4 was outdated when it launched last year, wake up Apple iSheep, but truth be told the Galaxy S 2 is light years ahead of it, not just the hardware spec's but the butter smooth flow of the OS, awesome screen, super thin, and lightweight.

Maybe the iPhone6 will catch up ?

just watched that video and the device seemed slightly laggy in reaction to the guys actions... yea thats a good sign!! lol
That's a weak argument at best and one that seems to be all anyone can throw out at these new devices. I see no "lagging" anywhere in the video.

Thats fine out of the box, but what about 6 weeks later when it's bloated with crappy unreigned apps? The iPhone 4 has not had sluggishness all year long.

And let's not even bring up the unpolished dull UI design. What about the keyboard feel? Even the on screen control buttons on the video player look lame.

lol i was merely commenting on what i saw! where's the argument! when he was going thru the menus there was a clear slight delay between him sliding his finger and the device actioning the gesture, maybe half a second or so.

plus like the bloke said above, they blatantly edited the video loading a website.

personally i think it's a clunky interface and samsung is still using the touchwiz that rips off the iOS home screen.

Were we watching the same video?

The choppiness of the UI is the first thing I noticed. I'm far from an Apple loyalist as I've used several Android devices throughout my time here and no matter how high the specs go the operating system itself is still unrefined.

As somebody mentioned earlier, the point of these threads escapes me. I'm okay with posting videos of new devices as competition advances but why oh why must it always be "Apple should be afraid!" or "the iPhone is dunforz!!"?

This has a premium design? It uses cheap plastic around the back. Most of reviewers hated the plastic back. I expect more from premium smart phones.

Also, I hate Samsung Skin.
I don't trust Samsung will keep users updated with their OS. It took them 8 to 9 months to release Froyo on original Galaxy S here in US.

As a "techie" I can appreciate a lot of the cool features of this phone, but it's WAY too complicated for the average user. Even I was lost during a lot of the video, wondering what he was doing. The average person would be lost trying to use this phone.

To me, it's all about the little things. Apple has done an outstanding job of creating one of the best user experiences, overall, that I have ever used. Of course, this is not to say that I've used every cell phone on the market - I don't have the money for the accounts needed to to that. Only the people whose job is reviewing cell phones can lay claim to that.

Take a look at the smaller things, such as the sharp corners on the icons and all the various ways to do things. Apple has given us a much more streamlined way of accomplishing tasks. Some people would say that iOS is too "dumbed down", but that video pointed out the paradigm difference between most Apple products and their competitors. I have noticed, since my switch to Apple in 2006, that I spend far less time setting up my computing environment and far more time actually getting things done.

The same appears to be true for that phone. The user spent an inordinate amount of time showing how things could be set up. Show me instead a video of how tasks can be accomplished with the device. Also, give me a consistent UI, not some mashup of every conceivable way to arrange (ie., set up) different screens, etc... Watching the video almost gave me a headache.

Say what you will, but I much prefer the "dumbed down" approach of Apple, as well as the extreme attention to detail they have taken with respect to the visual aspects of iOS. Some of the functionality shown in that video was really nice, and Apple would be well-served to see how they could implement some of that functionality and other eye candy aspects into future versions of iOS, as long as they don't lose the consistency of iOS they have given us thus far.

All in all, this is a good thing, as UIs like the one on the Galaxy S will push Apple to even more innovation. Now, if only Lexus could make an SUV with better iPod/iPhone integration (I have a 2008 RX 350 and am forced to use an FM transmitter that iOS 5 beta apparently doesn't like very well) ...

Whatever it might be there is no phone or OS out there that is as smooth as the iOS. Just rotate the device and you notice the difference in lag.
