iPhone HD/4G: The Design That We like To See On The Final Product!

iPhone4GHD-Final-by-kalevgr.jpg

What do you think? Isn't it cool?

I think it looks like the iMac design. I can't understand why people keep saying that the leaked prototype doesn't look Apple-ish at all...

Rocker switch is lame..... The two different buttons can actually serve more of a purpose than just volume like the rocker. For all those whining about a separate shutter button for camera, there ya go. Developers could start actually making those buttons useful for games and so forth. Sorry but the new design is the best looking iPhone yet IMHO.

For all of you that keep posting "it looks like this" posts.... FFS give it a rest. It looks like nothing else made. Just because a phone has a black front/back and silver/gray sides does not mean it looks like the new iPhone (hopefully).

The next iPhone needs visual light displays for messages. It's one feature many BB users, including myself, wish the iPhone had. It's small and simple, yet very helpful.

Great pic :) I hope that the new iPhone stays the way it is in the leaked photos. It would be nicer without those seams, but everything else is perfect. I hope the screen is higher resolution than the 3GS.

Bring it on!

I've likely missed this in the 1000's of posts on the subject, but - assuming it's the real deal, it appears the actual dimensions of the screen are unchanged? still in the 3.7" range?

I know the resolution appears higher. It would have been nice if more of the space at the top and bottom was used as screen. I like the overall size though so I know that the screen ratio would be different if they didn't also make it wider.

As much as I would like a decent camera shutter button, the volume buttons are on exactly the wrong side of the phone to do so while holding it steady and not having to dislocate any fingers, so they won't be any good for this.

Gizmodo says it's a tiny bit smaller than 3.5". May be something like 3.4".

What's the current one? I thought is was closer to 3.7" I expect a slightly smaller screen helps offset a bit of the added power requirements that come with a higher res screen.

Current one is 3.5". Nexus One is 3.7". Phones like the HTC HD2 and EVO are 4.3".

Hmmm....don't quite get this part.

If you hold your phone sideways with the earpiece on the right, the volume rocker is right where a shutter button should be.

Indeed it is. But the lens is now underneath your fingers, instead of the opposite corner where you want to be and not obscure your view.

If you move your fingers out of the way it's extremely uncomfortable, and you're taking away the support that counters the pressure from pressing the button, hence causing camera shake as bad as pressing the screen in the first place.
