Nice

Much better!! :D:D Those buttons were so ugly.

Removed seams and added 'glass effect'. I'd be very happy if Apple change there design slightly. Looks 10 times better.

BRAVO! :D Exactly what I want, no seams and rocker instead of those ugly buttons! :D

P.S. You wanna take a request??? :) Can I see that with the Snow Leopard wallpaper please? :)

I often use my camera's flash on the beach in the middle of the day, so this advertising appeals to me.

LOL... I think ur mistaken... It's called iFlash... you can play at the beach at night and it will illuminate everything for you!... if we could only use this technology to grow iVegetables

The mock up of the prototype is 100% better! I'm still not getting this year's iPhone - I will wait until the 4G network is ready or I'm eligible to upgrade. I'm just impatiently waiting for 4.0.

That's the money shot! That's exactly what I hoped they would do after seeing the seams and the volume buttons..

the prototype looks amazin, its just going to be a good phone all around

apple wont disappoint

Indeed it is. But the lens is now underneath your fingers, instead of the opposite corner where you want to be and not obscure your view.

If you move your fingers out of the way it's extremely uncomfortable, and you're taking away the support that counters the pressure from pressing the button, hence causing camera shake as bad as pressing the screen in the first place.

Phazer

Interesting, but you can easily stable the phone with your left hand, with some support from the fingertips on your right hand. The phone is rather small, and I highly doubt you can wrap both your hands around it, like you mention you need to.

Secondly, you can make this phone plenty stable to take a solid picture. If you really, really need the phone THAT stable you're a) using the wrong camera (get a professional one) and b) need a tripod. That or you need to up your potassium intake to stop the tremors.

Because of this post, I hope it has one.

You would really NOT buy it because of a feature that you can disable? That almost warrants an eye roll.

Almost.
Oh come on.

Why stop at one light? Have a bunch of beeping and flashing lights on the phone. One for email, another for a missed call and yet another for a new text message. They could be different colours and some could flash slowly while others could strobe fast enough to give you an epileptic seizure.
*sarcasm*
The reason why some people don't want it is because it would be tacky and defeat the purpose of having a screen where you can have that displayed and it is also what the vibrate/notifications windows and sounds are for.

The buttons on the prototype are way better than the rocker.

I agree! to me the rocker looks cheap and childish..although the buttons look like older SE models, i still like them better..looks more professional..like a mac vs mac book

The reason why some people would want led indicators is BECAUSE THEY WOULD BE USEFUL! Being able to glance at your phone (without having to pick it up and waste precious battery life turning on the screen) and realizing you missed a call or text (since you didn't hear/feel the ding/vibrate because the phone was in your purse or at your desk while you were off getting coffee.)

But hey, form over function...right?

You forgot about the frickin' laser beams blinding you while driving.

As everyone has pointed, if you don't want see a light, or hear a bell, or feel a vibration, just don't turn that indicator on. No need to deny the feature to everyone else simply because you don't want it.

The reason why some people don't want it is because it would be tacky and defeat the purpose of having a screen where you can have that displayed and it is also what the vibrate/notifications windows and sounds are for.

When the iPhone screen is off, no indications are visible.

Sounds can be annoying in meetings and especially so at night.

So it's nice to be able to glance at a phone and visually check if anything needs attention. Many phones do it quite eloquently with a glow around their Home button equivalent.

Why am I not surprised this conversation has already dropped to a second grade level? The eye roll makes you look 12.

Have you even seen a Macbook Pro? The slow flashing light you see when the computer is sleeping would be perfect. How you thought strobe lights and beeps made any sense is beyond me.

The reason why some people don't want it is because it would be tacky and defeat the purpose of having a screen where you can have that displayed and it is also what the vibrate/notifications windows and sounds are for.

Oh you mean the screen that say, if your phone is on vibrate across your room, you would have to get up, walk over and push a button to see?

And you're absolutely right. Nobody wants it because it's tacky. Well you know something else that's tacky and nobody (read: me) wants? Multiple alerts for a single text message. Damn Apple for providing that feature and damn them even harder for making it optional.

I like it, but I do not want a smaller screen! I was playing with an HD2 the other day, and that big screen was really nice. I want the new iphone so bad when it comes out, but dang it I do not want to switch to AT&T!!! I want T-mobile to be legal!
