I prefer the existing prototype. The discrete buttons are preferable to the rocker so that they can be more easily used for purposes other than volume, and if you look at the teardown it's clear that the phone couldn't realistically be much smaller than it is now. The bezel-haters will have to wait a few more years before they can assault their touchscreens with accidental inputs.

I don't want it to say 'iPhone 4G' just plain iPhone is fine, also for there to be never a bezel placed on it, at all

The next iPhone needs visual light displays for messages. It's one feature many BB users, including myself, wish the iPhone had. It's small and simple, yet very helpful.

no no no no no no no no no no

i HATE that on the blackberry and i would not buy the new iphone if it had one. its not that difficult to unlock you phone for 2 seconds to see if you have any new messages

Anyone have a link to the wallpaper?

And it looks nice, although, like others, I prefer the two buttons for volume instead of the rocker.

Because of this post, I hope it has one.

You would really NOT buy it because of a feature that you can disable? That almost warrants an eye roll.

Almost.

I like it, but rather than the screen and back being proud of the aluminum sides. I would prefer it if they were flush. Other than that I am happy however, I dont see any reason for the seams on the aluminum surround.

Even though it looks a lot like the prototype, it looks waaay better! But i cant tell too much what it is other than the fact that the cracks are WAY closer.

And if they dont add a light for messages, they can at least add like a quote bubble to the status bar like they do with the alarm/bluetooth/location services. That also seems like a great alternative for the text popup we get...

Much better!! :D:D Those buttons were so ugly.

Removed seams and added 'glass effect'. I'd be very happy if Apple change there design slightly. Looks 10 times better.

I agree. You would think they would sink the glass flush into the aluminum to protect it and make the edges more straightforward. As it is now on the prototype, nothing lines up. So not apple.

Excuse the rough photoshopping, but you'd think they would have made the glass inset like this:

Almost.

unless they did it in a VERY discreet and classy way, like in the square on the home button and it was easily disabled, I would hate it

Yeah, Apple would NEVER deliver a product where the glass didn't align with the bezel!!

I really like the hardware in the mockup. Looks nice. Especially if you can replace the back if it gets too scratched up. Or shattered. Would be nice to have a message indicator light (like on the wireless keyboard: a led hidden behind the metal, which you can't see when it's off) and to do something useful with the lock screen.

Yeah... OK. On my 3GS the glass sticks out past the chrome. They won't replace it because the genius's iPhone has the same problem, so there's nothing wrong with the glass sticking out, apparently.

I dropped my phone ONCE from 18 inches above the ground and the screen completely shattered worse than any other shattered iPhone I've ever seen.

Easy way to make an extra $200, Apple?

If the leaked photos are indeed the real thing, I for one just LOVE IT!
I am so ready for a flat back instead of the wobbley one now on my 3GS.
My concern is that according to the specs Gizmodo gave of the prototype was actually a little less wide. It's thinner but smaller wide wise. I don't want a smaller screen....in fact I would like a slightly larger one.

Indeed it is. But the lens is now underneath your fingers, instead of the opposite corner where you want to be and not obscure your view.

If you move your fingers out of the way it's extremely uncomfortable, and you're taking away the support that counters the pressure from pressing the button, hence causing camera shake as bad as pressing the screen in the first place.

Sorry... I just don't get this...

Most people hold a camera phone like the image below:

If you're taking a photo where camera shake is going to be a issue... Low light, action photography etc then really you should be using something more substantial than an iPhone...

For general random photos the volume button would be a perfect shutter button...

MUCH better than the current shutter button for sure!

yea I didn't really get what he was getting at either. Either way you hold it with your right index hitting the volume button or turnig it the other way with your left thumb hitting it, it works perfect. Heck, even in portrait mode the volume button feels right when you hit it with your left index too.
