That's probably just a guess. I don't think manufacturers are given the release dates. If the iPhone is released september 16, for example, they would bump up the shipping date or keep it as is because their product isn't ready yet.A vast majority of the Amazon listings (3rd party vendors) for iPhone 8 cases and screen protectors are accompanied by "In Stock September 23, 2017" message. September 23 falls on a Saturday. Since Apple typically releases iPhones on Fridays, this could potentially mean that the release date will be September 22.
Just speculating.
September 6th is more likely given the patternMy guess is Sept 12th keynote, Sept 15th preorder, Sept 22nd release date.
Looks like it could indeed be the 12th. At&t never fails.I think it will be earlier than that.. MY FAN account AT&T phone subsidy upgrade eligibility date just moved up to September 13th, 2017 from October 29th, 2017. ;-)
Interestingly, mine's saying I'm not going to be eligible until Sept. 2018, despite being on the Next 12 plan and upgrading at launch last fall.I think it will be earlier than that.. Blackout dates from Sunday, Sept 17 - Nov. 4th.
Makes sense for Keynote Tuesday, Sept. 19th with release and launch date Sept. 26th.

today someone shared for me this leak
it said sept 12 evemt and release on sept 22
well mine WAS in the fall of 2017, and I have seen this action before where AT&T will artificially pull it forward. Now I just have to figure out where I can purchase with a subsidy lock, probably only at AT&T store or online, which is MUCH less favorable than on apple.com on go day.Interestingly, mine's saying I'm not going to be eligible until Sept. 2018, despite being on the Next 12 plan and upgrading at launch last fall.![]()
I always have been before, which was why I was a little rattled by what I saw when I looked last night. I'm assuming it'll go back to what the actual date is here soon; otherwise, imma be on the horn to AT&T until they fix it.You're not given an opportunity to trade in at the 12-month mark?
Aha! Thank you. I just checked again and that info has now been added to the screen. Last night, all it said was "Trade-in eligibility: 12 months. Ends Sept. 9, 2018." Now it also advises that I can upgrade once I pay an additional $40.32 on my existing phone. Woohooooo!Ignore that notification - it displays the date on which your phone will be fully paid off. I upgraded my wife's line under Next 12 in January of this year and the displayed eligibility date is January 2019. When you select the "upgrade this line" option, it tells you what the remaining balance is until you're upgrade-eligible.
Looking back, I found that an AppleCare employee blackout date was leaked in 2013. <https://www.macrumors.com/2013/08/3...-applecare-employees-from-september-15-to-28/>(1) Keynote will be on a Tuesday/Wednesday - same as the last few years.
(2) It will be available to preorder that Friday.
(3) It will launch the following Friday.
This is the pattern used for the last 5ish years so....
I’d assume (given there’s usually 7-10 days lead time for invites to the event)....
Keynote: September 12
Preorders: September 15
Release: September 22
This lines up with your supposed blackout dates.
