Why must there be a redesign? There only so many ways to build a minimalistic touchscreen phone or anything minimalistic for that matter. Look at the iPod classic, Mac Pro, or iMacs since '08 etc...all those items have major design changes but recent year changes are minor ones.

I'm not saying Apple shouldn't try to innovate but at some point the design changes will only be "it's thinner & lighter than the previous version".

Change for change's sake is stupid. Change should happen when it's necessary.
Tell that to the automotive industry. How many cars do you think they'd sell if they looked exactly the same year after year and you couldn't tell a 3 year old model from a brand new one.

And excuse me for disagreeing about the iPhone 4's design, but I think there's plenty of places to go other than the sardine can look.

People freak out with every new Apple announcement. Same goes of fans of, well... anything. There is excitement in the unknown. Telling people they "need to chill out" is like telling a ravenous wild bear not to eat you while it's in the process of mauling you to death. Sure you can say it. But it isn't going to achieve a thing.

Cars do look the same year after year for several years before they revamp completely.

Ummm... smartphone design and technology evolves much faster than the automotive industry and you can't really draw an analogy between them. Comparing smart phones to cars is stupid to begin with.

+1

The glass front and back and the rectangular slab design of the 4/4S looks so dated and pales in comparison to some of the more gorgeous phones that were released recently like the HTC One X and the Nokia Lumia 900. I can't believe Apple is still trying to continue on the same design theme. After all they had 2 years to come up with something fresh.

Ooooo Warbrain just got buuuuuuuurned :D

I don't really care.

Regardless if these recent iPhone leaks are legit or not (I think they are), people need to relax. You don't know what Apple would design/not design. You don't know Apple's design rules etc...

When the iPhone 4 leaks came, people said it was hideous & would be embarrassed to have one (see pic below from a post of someone who said just that, then got both the iPhone 4 & 4S). Not trying to single that poster out, but that was the general consensus on that thread.

Before freaking out, wait til it's actually released & you have seen it in person. I hated the iPhone 4 but when I actually saw it, it made my 3GS look like an old toy.

Thanks for the shoutout! Someone was kind enough to point this out to me. I don't even remember saying this. How'd you find it?

So many people on here "know" what the phone will look like, what it will be called, when it will be released..... It's not like apple hasn't thrown us all a curveball or two in recent years. I don't get the argumentative nature on a site dedicated to rumors. If you KNOW "the iPhone 5 will run iOS 6 and be released June 22" then why on earth are you even here?

The Internet- ya just can't tame it.
