I hope so. Don't forget, it should also have a decent processor like they did with the SE.

• No 5G (although one can turn it off)

• A14 or higher processor (maybe even A13 would suffice)
I think Sub-6GHz-only would be a good compromise. I'm also assuming they would use the latest processor, as they've always done with the SEs. That would be my dream iPhone tbh.

I personally don’t believe they will axe it. I think they will improve it but this talk certainly will help sales.

they just need to raise or maintain the price given it is smaller, but offer a pro with a bit better battery life.
You’re Apple, make it happen. No one is asking for cheap, they want good.

If they do a 13 mini (and I have strong doubts), they will almost certainly do a 14 if the 13 sells well.

I'm with you. They'll never do it for us, which makes me sad.
I don't need any form factor change or FaceID or any of that.

Literally just spec bump the existing chassis and components.
That's all I want.
I’m almost with you. I would totally buy just a spec bump, but I’d love to have (and would pay for) other features as well, especially (not sure if some of these are included in a spec bump) better/more camera lenses/lidar and more storage, but also water resistance, louder speakers, and the U1 chip.

As far as wireless charging, I like the idea of charging by contact but I was disappointed that Apple went with inductive charging because of its inefficiency and it takes up a bit more internal space. I thought conductive charging would have been the better solution, sort of like the smart connector on iPads, with magnetic attachment. In my opinion, it would have all the main advantages of inductive charging (easy pick up and lay down) without the disadvantages, except you might have to be a little less haphazard with how you place your device (though I’d think magnets and good accessory design would mostly solve that), and conductive connectors can’t be hidden out of sight like inductive. I’m guessing the latter is the main reason companies are using inductive, it looks better.

I actually bought a MagSafe-like lightning adapter for my older iPhone, as a sort of pseudo conductive charging solution. Mostly to make connecting the charging cable on the phone mount in my car easier. Works well enough that I haven’t wished for inductive charging.

Frankly I don’t really see the point of it. It’s not really wireless is when it’s still tethered to the wall. Plus, it’s not that difficult to plug in a lightning cable.
It can be convenient when you only have one hand free.
My main use case is every time I get in and out of my car, I put my phone in its vent mount to charge, and it’s awkward to reach with two hands to plug in the cable because of the steering wheel.
