iPhone Mirroring Not Working

Hi guys, I had the same issue and was fixes by changing the DNS to google instead of cloudflare.

And I fixed mine by removing Google and only listing Cloudflare. I wonder if having both DNS numbers in there just confuses Facetime. It never used to, but Facetime started working the moment I removed Google (which just happened to be the first in the list).

I'm getting the same message about my iPhone 14 Pro Max not being up to date, even though it is. No success trying to get it connected. ****ing useless Day 1 ******** as always from Apple.
 
It's been a great experience so far.

I got it to work on my MacBook Pro and Mac Studio. It didn't see my iMac Pro.

It doesn't work the way I expected to. It's a simple mirror. I was hoping to be able to remote control it from my Mac.
 
where does it say requires apple silicon or t2? and if that we the case, why is it showing up on my Intel Mac?

same here ... tried rebooting phone and laptop, didn't work.

EDIT: my router was set to automatically use the DNS set by the ISP. Overriding this and setting it to use OpenDNS seems to have worked for me. So open your router settings, for me 192.168.1.1, and find your Internet/DNS settings page and setup in this order:

Primary DNS: 192.168.12.1
Secondary DNS: 208.67.222.222
Third DNS: 208.67.220.220

If you have an Intel MBP woth TouchID you likely have the necessary T2 chip hence why you are able to see it on your Intel Mac. 2018 and later Mac minis have T2 also. So any Intel Mac with T2 can use it. A 2015 MBP does not have a T2.

i have a 2019 imac. no T2 chip. but it still installed itself and showed up on my dock and then just threw and error message when i tried to set it up . what a fail and waste of my time, tim apple

Your ‌iPhone‌ and Mac need to be signed into the same Apple ID, and two-factor authentication must be enabled for the ‌iPhone‌ Mirroring feature to work. You will also need to turn on Bluetooth and Wi-Fi, and the two devices will need to be near each other.
 
There is one additional requirement: you need to be signed in to FaceTime with your Apple account.
 
I have the same problem. I've tried resetting my iPhone and Mac multiple times but it always happens.

At first, the mirroring worked, but required a password on the phone every time. After a few hours, the mirror will refuse to work and prompt a timeout. It can still detect if my phone's screen is on, prompting me to lock the screen.

I tried resetting my iPhone's access permissions but never success. I also noticed that the iPhone mirroring option didn't appear in my iPhone settings in General > AirPlay & Continuity. When the mirror is working and running, the option will appear until the mirror window is closed.

I've tried again in iOS 18.0.1 and macOS 15.0.1 and it still happens.

Just tagging myself in here as I have the same issue. Works fine on my 2020 iMac but doesn't work with my 2019 MacBook Pro (and it has the t2).
 
I finally got it working. It kept saying the Phone is in use. I logged into Facetime as mentioned 3 posts up and then it worked. Seems very cool!
 
It seems iphone mirroring worked on my m2 max with my iPhone 12 pro. However, it does not work on my m1 mbp. I went into the airplay and continuity setting on the iphone and it shows iPhone mirroring there connected to the m2 max few hours ago. Not sure if anyone has tried mirroring of their iphone on 2 mac devices. My m1 mbp does not connect and get that dreaded unable to connect to iphone, try again.

All updates made as of today's releases.
