A few I'd like

Button at the bottom of the mail screen to load images when when switched off in the setting menu without having to leave mail switch on then back again etc.

The inability to select contacts that you only have email addresses for when choosing recipients for an sms.

More details on failed sms rather than just stating failed! which doesn't really help if if was a multi contact sms.
 
This can't be added through software but the biggest thing I miss most about my old Blackberry was the led message indicator. At first I thought it was silly, but after a year and a half it was indispensable. Just glance at the phone to see if you have a message waiting.
 
Although revolutionary, the iPhone OS still lacks some very basic features that other smartphones have had for years.
For each of those missing features, care to list the other smartphones that already have them and for how many years now?

I've always liked hardware LED indicators. Especially the ones that change color. ;)
