My wife just got the 4S, and since the house is filling up with ios devices, I figured I would give android a shot. I just got an HTC Rezound, and I actually really like it. It's missing a few key things that I've come to expect on ios like an easy built-in full backup (without having to root) and a good way of getting all of the podcasts I like to listen to. I know there are workarounds and apps to get, its just that I've come to expect these features to be built-in and integrated.

Other than that I'm loving android. The device is beautiful (dual core 1.5 ghz, 720p on a 4.3" screen - higher ppi than the retina display) and fast. I'm starting to come around to the android way of doing things. Funniest thing is that when my wife got her 4S I thought it was beautiful - but now after using my Rezound, the screen looks small and interface seems old school.

Come back in a couple months and let us know how you feel then. You may still like it, but I promise you'll be sick of pulling the battery all the time and downloading apps that f* up the rest of your phone causing you to just delete them back off the phone. Also, battery life...you'll see your wife going a full day with plenty of battery left come bed time while yours will be running on fumes if you haven't already had to re-charge at some point (unless you got an extended battery..in that case, you have a goofy tumor sticking out the back of your phone and can't buy aftermarket cases.)

I say all this with me having the iPhone 4S and my Fiance who has the HTC Incredible 2.

I've used both on and off for a few years. I really like widgets on android and being able to use the phone as a flashdrive, but iOS looks much smoother and the apps are way better quality IMO.

iOS/iPhone Pros:
Smoother UI (The only Android interface that even comes close in my opinion is Touchwiz by Samsung)
Better battery life in most cases
Better looking/working apps
More stable OS
Better build quality of the phone itself
Music player is much better than any android counterpart
Easy sync if you use iTunes, which I do
More Accessories available

iOS/iPhone Cons:
Non-removable battery-Apple does this for your favor. removable battery cause issues, broken parts, bulkier parts and without making the back cheap and flimsy (like ALL android phone, back) their is no easy, good looking way of making a removable back.
Lack of Adobe Flash-Considering the web pretty much just dumped flash...
Can't use the phone as a flashdrive

Apps tend to cost more-90% are .99 cents.....lol
If you don't like iTunes, you're stuck with it
No live wallpapers-So you want your battery to last 5 minutes? Because no android phone with live wallpaper gets great batt life.
no google turn by turn nav

Android Pros:
Removable Battery
Use the phone as flashdrive
More free apps
More customizable
More styles to choose from (physical keyboard, sizes, etc.)
Widgets
Live Wallpapers
Google turn by turn navigation built in

Android Cons:
Not enough quality control with so many handsets
Not as many accessories available for a specific phone
Worse battery life on some models
Music players tend to suck
Not very stable a lot of times

Notice most of the android faults fall under the poor quality control category. They would probably do better if they would stop coming out with new phones every other week! I'll probably be sticking with iOS unless Android slows down and really works on getting their **** together with a more stable platform :)

You'll come back... Truuuuust me. I went through 4 Android phones before I came back to the iPhone and realized what an idiot I was

Funny the Optimus V I use has amazing battery life..... with the live wallpaper turned on. Apple doing it as a favor for us, and never seeing a great looking removable back? Who cares about that. If a phone is sh$#y then its that. The OV is perfectly fine and the removable back just pops right off. Then I can change the battery at will. Please cite your references to the battery plates causing broken handsets please. And for that specific model you cite, there are probably 50 more Android based phones with removable backs that don't fall apart.

In my opinion, an iPhone 4s jailbroken destroys android and windows phone 7.

----------

well, i already liked it better, but its even better jailbroken.

I have researched Android deeply to see if i might like it better than ios and apple, I have come up with the conclusion that If i had an iPhone 4s with newest iOS for a week then The best Android phone with ICS for a week (no prior experience with either or knowledge of either) I would iPhone 4s.
Did you research by actually using the two options or was it just spec sheet racing?

actually when they get a jailbreak for it, it will be caught up but then when you root an android, its no contest. Iphone is left in the dust.

When did the 4S get a jailbreak? I thought they are waiting for 5.1?

i know its not out yet, im just saying, if it had a jalibreak and was jailbroken, it would be awesome

sorry, im not totally sure what rooting does and what it will let an android do. can you tell me? i have been wondering about it but never looked it up. thanks

You don't even know what rooting is... then you say a jailbroken 4S is better when it's not available... then you say you'd stick with 4S after having both for a week w/o actually having nor using either phone LOL. !?!??

dude you make no sense. I can tell you I have one of my iPhones customized to the hilt, even with custom stuff not from Cydia. And still so much more you can do with Android and rooted.

don't have any experience or knowledge, haven't used either phone etc. That's like saying "even though I haven't driven or been in neither I have come to the conclusion that I would prefer a Bentley than a Rolls"

i meant that was part of the scenario. if i started using both without having any knowledge before, i would choose the 4s. thats like saying if i used the rolls then the bentley without driving either before, i would choose the bentley. (idk if i would, just sayin)
