One more update, just in case it helps anyone in the future-i was called back by Apple a bit ago- they finally figure out the problem-thebilling info must match exactly. My fiance is the prime account holder on att. I'm the 2nd line, and eve though i'm fully authorized to make changes to the account, it didntmatter. I ordered the phone from apple using my name- e ven thomy fiance's addy is the same as mine, it was the name difference that tripped it up.

So just remember-if you're a 2nd line buying fromApple, don't use your name, use the name on the att billing statement, even if you're added as an athorized user and you live together and have the same address.

Now if you'll excuse me, l'm gonna head down to my local Apple store and see if there's a line :)

Sorry to hear about all your troubles man. That sucks. Glad it got worked out though and hopefully you can get some enjoyment out of the experience.
 
I feel you buddy the same thing happened to me.. almost the same story.

Ordered a 32gb white at 7:15am on the 7th through an ATT rep on the phone. Got an order number. Around lunchtime that day I got the TC email and accepted it. I got the preparing for shipping status and to this day it still has not changed.

My mom ordered a 16gb from apples website, it also gave an error right after I finalized the order, but we got the confirmation email and a tracking number. It will be here tomorrow. We did that order at 10am when she decided she indeed wanted one.

I tried to order through apple on the website and could not get through so I figured ill just call ATT. All seemed well until the status never changed and still has not changed. I also spoke to a high level supervisor who also told me about the department that only works through email! I was on the phone with him yesterday and I told him to just cancel the order. He said he could but it could take up to 48 hours to update my upgrade eligibility to good. That took the option of heading out to the store early tomorrow morning out of the question. Then I asked him if I could just open up a new line, get the discount pricing, wait for my phone to come in and return it? He said yeah I would only be charged for the amount of time I used, which would be none. He also noted the account for the store to not charge me a restocking fee due to their screw up. He also noted if the store refuses to give me the refund that ATT direct would give me a $35 credit on my account. Good enough for me.. **** happens. I will be at the store tomorrow at 6am and hope for the best.

I went to the Apple store at midnight and did the whole wait in line thing.. to be honest it was almost kind of fun. Someone ordered pizza for the whole line (nine large pizzas), Apple gave out coffee and tea and had porta pottys for us, and the ppl in line next to me were cool. I just chilled and watched movies on Netflix, and time went relatively fast.

Got my 64 gig white 4s, and got outta there by 8:30 am. All's well that ends well :)
