iPhone OS 3.0 - Beta 4 - Speculation

Not sure if you guys noticed, but one of the features I am looking forward to is being able to stream music off of another persons iPhone on the same network! Now THAT will be something that will be spectacular in my opinion. It's like a :apple:TV-to-go :) specially with the new bluetooth peer-to-peer networking support, we can see more multiplayer games similiar to the Nintendo DS. The iPhone really is becoming a true revolutionary device for me, it has become a very good multimedia and gaming device all in one.

Well... that could theoratically be possible with the FM Receiver/Transmitter we've been hearing about... i mean, i load up my music and start transmitting, and my friend open's up his FM App and selects the source as my iphone instead of actual FM channels... and same thing to transmit to Car Radios....
 
I'm not a developer and as such dont have 3.0 so it might already have this but i would like to be able to copy songs from one play list to another and be able to edit all features of a play list like it name etc.

Me too. Specially now, with the virtual keyboard and multi touch screen it would be very simple to edit things like that on the iPhone and iPod Touch.
 
What I wish for 3.0 all together is two things
1. A character counter while composing an SMS
2. Photos to create smart albums of Events/Faces/Places so that I don't have to do it!

Oh, and the ability to send Greek SMS - non unicode (ain't seeing it happening) with 160 characters
 
Does anyone here know the expiry date of the current beta? I don't know where to locate this information myself.
 
I was wondering too if another beta was coming out today for the iPhone, since we all do realize that there is a 14 day span between each release.
I'd like to see mostly bug fixes for the most part. SMS is still a bit buggy, as well as losing the "call" capability on the keypad. Also, I'm curious to see if "tethering" or MMS will be activated for us, although I really don't find it too likely.

For my iPhone at the least, I've noticed that cell reception pickup... is a bit slower? I'm not sure if this is a bug in the software, or just my phone, but when I get knocked out of service, and the phone is searching in an area I KNOW there are 5 bars available, it doesn't pick it up until about 2 minutes later.

You think the blank store section under settings will be revealed? It's not holding me for dear life suspense, but I'm just curious what it could represent.

Aside from that- I just sparked an idea (which could be stupid), but wouldn't it be cool if we can wirelessly sync our iPhone with iTunes instead of plugging it in all the time?

But I'm keeping my fingers crossed this afternoon, hopefully awaiting another beta release to download! :D

I'm not positive.
But it seems the last two have expired ten days after the next beta.
So in ten days you should get the pink screen if you don't upgrade to the next beta.

Here's my speculation:

- Ability to change the country/user of the itunes/app-store used (without resyncing with itunes)
- Preferences relating to the In-App-purchasing of software/plugins/extensions

(i.e. remember usernames/passwords for in-app-purchases - settings related to recurring billing - possibly credit card numbers?)

oh yeah thats totally a good idea .. especially when your iphone gets jacked and all your personal information and credit card numbers are in the hands of a theif..

but your right totally not a security risk :rolleyes:
 
I hope they move the sending progress bar somewhere else for beta 4. I hate how it covers up the person's name in the top navigation bar... That bar should only be used for navigation.

I disagree, I like it out of the way, although with the bugs now and having it hang there after a message actually sent, but it still says sending is annoying. That needs to be fixed.

Would be nice if they could make it the send button, maybe make it progress to green

Ooh, that would be cool. But I do like having it not take up the bottom half of the screen like it does in 2.x.
 
Im hoping they release it today! having no dial button is quite annoying! i wouldnt mind some video options either although i think its unlikely and will be announced at WWDC :(
 
Well the previous beta's were released sometime around 1Pm pacific time :)

CMOONNN BETAA 4!

I will be checking for beta 4 each 25 mins so ill post here when it's out :D
 
I am hoping that a beta 4 release and a 1.5.7 release hits today and that the 1.5.7 release has a fix for Bluetooth so I can tether my MacBook Air!! LOL

Restarting your phone should bring the dial button back. But yes, it IS a bug that needs immediate fixing...
