I agree on Off Switch for Landscape Mode

How about an option to disable auto-tilt to landscape when in mail and text message. That is so freaking annoying.

I hate the Landscape Keyboard, and when laying in bed it always switches, and is super annoying

Does the app quit "normally" now?

Hi,

Can anyone who has already installed the new iPhone OS 3.1 give us the observation on this?

I notice that after I upgraded to 3.0 (and after prolonged usage), my app no longer quit "normally".. It means that it doesn't fade out to the distance as it usually did in 2.2.1

It does fade and minimize away if I just restarted my iPhone, but after prolonged usage, like after browsing in Safari, replying mails, and opening SMS, it no longer does this...

Anyone experience the same thing? It's kinda annoying.. You know, you're expecting something but it 's not there.. It's like something is missing...

Thanks beforehand

I wish I hadn't lobbied for copy/paste, it's so ugly. I feel sure that apple had it in the original concept and deleted the code and wiped the disk it was on and then buried it in a large hole in the ground along with a few copies of Vista to make sure it rotted quickly. I don't even find it consistent, sometimes I get the choice of what to copy, sometimes everything is selected and that's it and just editing one character means getting the worlds largest phone popup asking me if I want to copy something.

oh yeah auto tilt on mail annoys me too, especially when it tilts and decides I shook the phone and tells me there's nothing to undo the next time I look at it.

what's up with the ability to delete a single call from recent calls!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

My only complaints since day one was the ability to have more options for mail alert (more/longer vibrates, louder alert) and more options for text message alert.

I don't see these discussed very much, so I am curious if anyone else wants these same things?

Oh and the battery life still sucks....just sayin...

please allow different emails accounts to have different signatures. it would be so easy and make such a difference for business users.

Is someone trying to be sneaky? :p

Why do people always say that? It's stupid.

It's such a nice option when you use your recent call log as a pseudo address book and you received a call from a wrong number, etc.

Hopefully a better life will come via this update, I'm charging mine nearly twice a day even with dimming the screen and turning 3g off. Or am I expecting too much and should buy the case accessorie with built in battery?

Anyone who installed it know if they fixed the bug with AVCRP? Play/Pause works, but FFW/RWD/Skip did not.

its not a bug. apple just didn't incorporate all of the categories. take a look here, page 35 of 93. Category 3 does not seem to be implemented.

4.8.1 Category 1: Player/Recorder
Basic operations of a player or a recorder are defined, regardless of the type of media (tape, disc, solid state, etc.) or the type of contents (audio or video, etc.). If a device supports this category 1, it shall be implemented with the two operation_ids of the PASS THROUGH command, “play” and “stop”.
The device supporting category 1 shall support Metadata Information features defined in Table 3.1.
4.8.2 Category 2: Monitor/Amplifier
The category 2 is to define basic operations of a video monitor or an audio amplifier. If a device supports this category 2, it shall be implemented with the two operation_ids of the PASS THROUGH command, “volume up” and “volume down”.
4.8.3 Category 3: Tuner
The category 3 defines the basic operation of a video tuner or an audio tuner. If a device supports this category 3, it shall be implemented with the two operation_ids of the PASS THROUGH command, “channel up” and “channel down”.

tasks sync with iCal - iPhone 3.1

Oh please, add task-sync with iCal. We shouldn't have to ask for this one. It's a basic feature.

Oh, and whilst we're at it -- a version of iWork for iPhone that syncs with Mac. Once again, this used to be a basic feature of Windows CE and Windows PocketPC.

That would be awesome!!!! I hate when my wife looks at my phone to see my girlfriend called.... It always makes for a bad night. So come on apple, help us out

Im experiencing HUGE gains in the area of the battery.

I have been experiencing bad battery drainage with 3.0 to the point that it would be 50% in about 4 hours which is pretty bad.

Currently, im on hour two with no USB connection and its still at 98%.

Thats pretty substantial.

Still no copy and paste... GAHHH!!!!!!!!!! (I'm kidding). Flash would be nice, though. I'm noticing Flash less and less on the web, but it's the sore point in our "real web browsing" pitch. Even if there was a small battery icon somewhere telling you that this webpage may be taxing your battery with its fancy animations, that would still be better than nothing. It would also be nice if the next iPhone had an actual Flash for the camera, too... I thought a cool implementation would be the apple logo on the back doing Flash duty.

I wouldn't mind having flash as an option. However, I definitely want the option to disable flash animations, because I would rather maintain as much battery life as I can get rather than have flash animations on my web pages.
