im on an att family plan with my mom. im looking to preorder the new iphone but im not due for an upgrade anytime soon on my line, but my mom is. will i be albe to still preorder the new iphone and use my moms upgrade? or will i have to wait in line and do it in the store like i did with my iphone 4 last year?

I know you can use someone else's upgrade (in your family plan) to upgrade your phone early on verizon, but I don't know if you can on AT&T. Have you tried googling this? This seems like something you should be able to find on google.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU iPhone OS 4_3_5 like Mac OS X; en-us) AppleWebKit/533.17.9 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.0.2 Mobile/8L1 Safari/6533.18.5)

You can even take a friends extra upgrade and then activate the phone on your plan. all you need to do is have your mom add you as an authorized person to do so, and that takes a call to AT&T or a visit to a AT&T store!

do i do it through apples website when i enter my info for the preorder on friday? i searched google to no avail.

Doesn't matter if it's there or through the carrier.

Just make sure you have all account info (billing zip, SSN, phone number).

but i figured id get it and it would be activated to her phone number? or do i activate it once i get it? ive never preordered before.

As soon as you put in your micro-SIM card into the 4S, it becomes your number.

also forgot to mention that my iphone 4 along with the micro sim card inside was stolen a few months ago so i dont have a sim card no more.
