In 2007, the exchange rate was around $2 for every £1 and the U.S. dollar has only been stronger (with some ups and downs along the way) in years since. It is currently around $1.14 for every £1.
Sorry I misread your post you are correct. I read it as the other way around.
 
Apple's trade in values are worse this year than last year, I remember last year I traded in my 12 pro max and got $800 or $820 for it, this year the most they're giving me for 13 pro max is $720...still decent but $800 sounds a lot better.
