I'm in the minority, but I'm majorly regretting getting the Max.

I went from a 12 Pro and ordered both a 13 Pro and 13PM so I could try them both out. I felt that the 13PM was bigger and better and the weight wasn't *that* much of an issue and so I returned the Pro Friday to make sure I hit the 14 day period.

Big mistake.

A weekend of using the PM exclusively has made me realize just how unwieldy it is. The finger gymnastics are a pain, the phone is too slippery and fragile without a case but with a case, it adds more heft and size and using it one handed is a ballache. And I didn't realize just how much I DID use it one-handed. I work out, but I clearly have weak wrists because it hurts after a while.

Sadly, it took me using it as a daily driver to find this out, rather than just carrying it around as a second phone which is what I was doing.

It's my own stupid fault but I'm stuck with it now (and I know this is a first world problem!) Even if I could convince Apple to take it back now beyond the 14 days, the actual 13 Pro is out of stock for at least a month due to the chip shortage.

Sigh.

Return the PM and get an used 7 for 100 bucks maybe and wait for the 13P?

Try ordering through Best Buy. I realize that some have had not so good experiences. Pre-ordered my 13 Pro Max on 9/17 and got it on 9/30.
This was great advice!

I just looked on Best Buy and they have them ready for pickup in my local store. Whereas Apple has them delayed until November 17th! So I ordered one on BB for collection tomorrow.

Asked meanwhile granted me an exemption to the returns period and will give me another 14 days to return it.

This all sounds too good to be true but looks like I found a way. Will report back tomorrow!

Thanks for all the advice folks.

I have had every single plus/max iPhone but this year I got the Pro.

Yeah, the larger screen and battery life are nice, but I can’t get past the weight of the PM.

To those who love saying it’s just a few grams, you can’t even tell, etc. Yeah, it’s just a few grams heavier than the 12PM, but personally I think that was a brick already and I never got used to it.

6 Plus 172 g (6.07 oz)
6s Plus 192 g (6.77 oz)
7 Plus 188 g (6.63 oz)
XS Max 208 g (7.34 oz)
11 Pro Max 226 g (7.97 oz)
12 Pro Max 228 g (8.04 oz)
13 Pro Max 240 g (8.47 oz)

I will go back to the Max if they ever make a lighter version in the future.

Should also add to this: the phone was $100 off at Best Buy too. So I even got it cheaper!

Where do you check? The only way I can see it is to go through the process of placing an order on the app but that's quite cumbersome

Just for reference since you already got one through Best Buy, When you’re looking in the Apple store or the Apple app, change the selection to local pick up and it will show if anything’s available in your area. For me those change daily.

after holding the 13 pro max at the store no way (also used to be plus/max user in the past). more than happy with the battery life on the 13 pro. i prefer usability over obsessing with super long battery life.

I've had the larger phone since the 7+ (except year that X was released, I went with the X), and this is the first year I went down to the normal phone size. I don't miss my 12 Pro Max at all. Screen size is great, as is the camera and battery.

I have the 13 Pro and also tried the 13 Pro Max over the weekend.

The phone is uncomfortably large and I just couldn't handle the compromise in convenience/usability for a larger screen. Back it went!

totally different, BB makes you be in a contract... also, if you check apple daily there will be some... but you have to check like 10-15 times a day.

I'm already in contract with T-Mobile anyway. I'm on the Postpaid plan with a bunch of lines.. so it wasn't a new contract. And the phone was full price (minus a $100 discount if you activated that day).
They're already in the process of unlocking it for me. T-Mo doesn't have a minimum term (but I wouldn't leave them anyway as I've been with them years and think they're great) so in theory, I could end my contract next month and sell the phone unlocked. Best of both worlds (not that I will now I've got my hands on the Pro.)

I’ve done 6+, 7+, 8+, XS Max, 11 Pro Max, skipped the 12 and decided to try the smaller size this time around and went with the 13 Pro.

Zero regrets or buyer’s remorse. For me, which I realize everyone’s needs and wants are different, the size just felt totally balanced, natural and comfortable. Battery is also beating out my 11 PM which made me happier about downsizing.

It all comes down to personal preference, there really is no wrong answer.

I just know I’m not going to get used to the size and /or grow tired of it.

Been checking the last two days. The 128gb Graphite popped up and I was lucky enough to grab it. Picking up at 1630.

I had to go to the Apple store today to see the Genius about my airpods and ended up waiting around, playing with the Max, thinking "oh this is nice" 😂🤦🏽‍♂️

Give it about 10 days and you won't notice the weight

I thought I should have given it a few more days but went back to the Pro anyway… at least for now, haha. They were separate purchases so I have 14 days to change my mind again. If I do, I think my wife may kill me, lol!
