My goodness, yesterday alone these ringtone packs generated over 24 GB of bandwidth from my server! Clearly there is demand for these. Heck, that was less than 12 hours of traffic.
Uberamd let me know if you want to take them down so that I can host them somewhere else otherwise thanks a million for hosting them on your server I'm sure I speak for everyone when I say we really appreciate it
Bandwidth and space are never an issue. Contact me if you have more and I will upload them for you.
If anybody can find the Super Mario spitfire sound (the one it makes when the flower thing comes out of the box) it would be greatly appreciated. I am apparently horrible and searching for sounds.
Hello,
I am new to these boards and I just downloaded one of the ringtone packs at the beginning of this thread. Thank you for providing these, but I have a question.
Maybe I just don't know what I'm doing (very possible!), but I downloaded them and they appeared in my iTunes "ringtones" folder and when I went to sync my iPhone 3G, it acted as though it was syncing all of these new ringtones, but after I disconnected the device from my computer & went into my ringtones on my iphone, none of the new downloaded tones were there.
What did I do wrong?
Am I missing something?
I would appreciate any help you can give.
Thanks in advance!
make sure "sync ringtones" is selected
make sure you leave the file where it is when you are copying it to itunes.Yes, I checked sync all ringtones and it "appeared" to be syncing them, but after it was over, there were tiny exclamations next to every downloaded file in my iTunes that read, "Cannot find original file location; locate now?"
So, I tried that.
I located the original downloaded file of one ringtone and then the little exclamation mark disappeared, but after I tried to sync it again, the exclamation mark returned and it once again said it could not locate the file.
I have never had any problem like this before. I have downloaded other iTunes-friendly, created ringtones before, with no issues like this.
I have had my iPhone 3G for exactly 1 year and it is fully updated to the latest software.
Thanks again for any help that is offered.
make sure you leave the file where it is when you are copying it to itunes.
for ex. If its on desktop, and then you copy the ringtones over to itunes, the file should remain on desktop aswell.
if that doesnt help, not sure what else is wrong
I even tried re-downloading the zip files and then directly saving them to my iTunes Ringtones folder... to no avail.
Then I tried copying the files from the Desktop folder directly to my iTunes folder.
Still didn't work.
Has iTunes created some kind of block against this sort of thing?
Has no one else experienced what I am talking about?

Hey Acronym, thanks for all the work, it is appreciated!!
When you download the file. Do you drag and drop them into iTunes? Have you "activated" the ringtones in your iTunes preferences? When your syncing then over do just sync them all? Or are you syncing only the selected?
Ringtones can't be more then 40 seconds long or they don't show up on the iPhone. Make sure you have imported them first into iTunes itself or there can be some syncing problems, that's all that I can think of right now.
Thank you, Acronym. I will try to answer your questions:
I have tried dragging & dropping them into iTunes, copying the files to iTunes, and saving the file directly to iTunes. Nothing works.
Yes, I have activated the ringtones in my iTunes preferences as I have created ringtones for my own use and I have downloaded other ringtones online.
I have tried syncing them all and syncing only a few checked at a time. Neither way worked. =(
I appreciate your trying to help me.
I'm going to keep messing with it and hopefully I will figure it out.
If you think of anything else I can try, though, please let me know!
Thanks again.![]()

I don't know if this is the issue or not, but I just downloaded these (thanks a ton, btw!) and I previewed a couple. That automatically played them in iTunes. However, I hadn't yet unzipped the files. So the next time I played them - little exclamation marks. Make sure you open the file and DON'T see "extract all" - if you do, there's your problem... still zipped up. Easy enough to solve though.![]()
