Does iphone for ass have 4g network? Nope. Better screen? Nope. Bigger screen? Nope. It's outdated in specs compared to Nexus in every possible way. A5? useless unless you are a heavy gamer on a freaking smartphone (laughs). Siri is a useless gimmick that no one will bother with after few hours of use. Made out of cheap ass glass that will break into million pieces if you accidently drop it. No external storage - no microSD card slot for adding storage. No file system access - you can't save and retrieve file from wherever you want on the phone, Static icons, No turn-by-turn GPS navigation built in, No flash on websites, No removable batteries, Customization is out of question.

you just got pwned, son. Go back to your basement.

I need to put it out there that the glass is no way fragile, i cant imagine how many times i have dropped mine and even on solid surfaces its going strong. touch wood.

My first iPhone (iPhone 4) and ive never been in such a position that I have never wanted another phone that is out.

HAHA! Wow. No. Its not. Thats something your genius told you when you asked him why your iphone dont do LTE.

This is better then the guy who thought US wasn´t broke!
Dude take a chill pill it was a joke maybe I should have added the wink so u knew I was joking any way u sound like a troll to me:confused:

What I was trying to say is that there are no new killer HW features the "dumb" user can identify.
So Siri as a "killer feature" is really a way to market the device to the "dumb" users, those instead who really understand that Siri can be run by other older devices are more concerned by this new Apple trend not to offer/support/share plans to support the other loyal Apple customers that in the past have purchased their phones.

I own an iPhone 4 and I love it, but it bothers me so much that Siri could work on it that I'm pissed and angry vs Apple to a level that's impossible for me to think to get an iPhone 4s just for the sake of having Siri.

Well, even if Siri is the only feature the average derp will understand exists, there's still a plethora of changes under the hood that I myself have taken huge advantage of; and really, like any company, you need to rake in sales of a new product by appealing to the masses a lot of the time, and Siri's a good way to do that. I mean, I can understand where your irritation is coming from, but hey; they're a company, that in my experience has shown better service to me than any other I've dealt with (although Dell's warranty is excellent; came very close to getting the U2711). But I digress.

Apple needs to make money to fund their future endeavours; would you rather they be like an Android handset manufacturer and take aeons to get round to supporting (if at all) the latest OS? If they choose to make a feature exclusive to the 4S, that's their prerogative. I'm sure you could upgrade to a 4S if you really wanted Siri (I'm sure the contract vendor you're with would be offering some sort of program along those lines).

He doesn't sound like a troll. He was merely correcting your post while being cynical about it. But the way you posted sounded like a troll regarding HDSPA being 4g.

"HDSPA is 4g? I'm sorry troll, but go back to your cave."

This is what I was about to say until I read that it was a joke.

iPhone Sales Strong In Countries With Loads of Money, Not Strong In Countries Who Are Broke.

lol. As if this is news

Exactly! Places like Greece, Spain, Portugal and most of Europe is struggling financially. Gadgets and phones are just not on the agenda most people. Priority is on food, heating & fuel.

Or maybe it's not because the countries are poor, but because not everyone has the money to pay $1300 for a 16gb iPhone. This is how much the iPhone costs in Russia, you know, Europe's most populous country...

There are bigger priorities in life than buying the newest iPhone.

Economy wise they are stronger than most, but a large part of the population of each country are struggling, same for UK. Fact.

Right, because France’s poverty level is 6.1%, or 3.7 million people, Germany’s poverty level is 13.5%, and the U.S.’s poverty level is 15.1% or 46.2 million people.

Bullsh$%. Define "struggling". No way in hell your normal average German citizen and small business owners has a credit debt over their rooftop and letters of foreclosure collecting on their table.

Yeah, so what I originally said still stands. I can validate it further if people want.

A lot of people are hard up! Fact! Businesses are struggling and recession is a certainty.
The article mentions nothing about Germany nor German economy is even in similar situation as UK or France, or rest of Europe. The article even mentions that Germany still maintains their AAA credit rating.

Fail.

Hard fact my ass.

iPhone Sales Strong In Countries With Loads of Money, Not Strong In Countries Who Are Broke.

lol. As if this is news

Biggest fail ever.

Out of the three countries "with money", only Australia is doing well financially.
The UK is in the pits, the US is in the pits. Those two, along with all the "Countries Who Are Broke" are in dire straits.

nice attempt, but you fail.

It's popular in those three countries because they're very similar culturally. I'd like to see Canuck/Kiwi stats as well, as I'm sure the iPhone is doing well in those countries too.

there are a few different points:

1. as divinox said: in many continental countries taking up debt for consumer goods is frowned upon, the UK and US are different there...

2. price, Apple has been notoriously for charging more in europe thanks to exchange rates etc. and even it isn't true many people still think so
i reality though there are many facets:
- apple doesn't drop prices over time as other vendors do
- 3g iphone as entry device: selling many year old old devices as low price alternative doesn't work in europe
- apples big problem isn't the sub 150€ euro android market or the 400+€ euro market, in europe the big point is between roughly 199-299-399 € : devices in that price range can pretty much do everything the huge majority of user want

3.customization: while it has many advantages to prevent user customization, Europe in general is still crazy for it, especially people under 30, i know 3 people who went from 3GS iPhones to a galaxy nexus because of this
many people don't like being locked in _and_ don't want to to fiddle around with jailbreaking

4. drumming up Siri as a big stand out feature: as i said at the introduction of the 4S, in non english speaking countries voice recognition systems are not only in many cases rather error prone in reality, they are having the reputation of being unreliable ... Siri might be the best voice system today but still for the majority of people it's not a selling point but more of a gimmick one tries out once and then forgets about it... it hasn't having the 'selling power' of a bigger screen

5. as another user said: support... there simply are few apple stores in europe and those are limited to very few countries, the EU has a population of 500+ millions
3rd party support is more or less hit and miss

6. OS X market penetration: US and UK have a much higher percentage of OS X users than the rest of europe (switzerland excluded), because of that a lot of the great synergy features between OS X and iOS are completely irrelevant in many markets
afaik in the US there around 2-4 times as many OS X users per capita compared to many european countries
