I guess my hope for a XR/11 sized SE with an LCD display is lost. And they aren't selling the 11 anymore, so if my 11 breaks I have nowhere to go since I get bad migraines from OLED displays. Kinda wish I bought another 11 while the 11 was still selling with 256 GB of storage.

Why carry 2 iPhones when you can go dual SIM? That's what I (and many others) did ever since iPhone supported it with physical SIM and eSIM.

I suppose carrying around 2 iPhones could be used as an excuse when you don't answer a call/text from your boss by saying you forgot it at home.
Also when I want to leave work behind, I leave it behind.
I don't even have a phone number on my work phone. Its just so I can have an isolated device logged into work calendar, slack, email, etc.

My company only offers se or 13 without any choice of color or capacity. As a plus size user since iPhone 6, I don’t want to use a smaller phone for personal use. Also didn’t want to use 128 gb version at all. Unfortunately I cannot use my private phone for company email and calendar because it is not allowed and I can’t install the damn profile to my private phone.

So, I was using an iPhone 8 as company phone until last week. Now my second phone is 13 and I’m carrying it with my 13 pro max. Because WhatsApp can be installed on both devices with same number, maybe I’ll carry 13 more often :)

Yes I’m in Europe :)

By the way I’m quite surprised about the size of the 13 after carrying it. It is quite small and light compared to 13 pro max. Honestly, after xs max, 13 pro max feels still too heavy, even after 5 months of usage.

Integrated TouchID, iP11 Pro level cameras, USB-C = Instant buy.
No need for FaceID or LIDAR - just a simple phone with a decent camera at a reasonable price and size.
If Apple ever decides to release integrated TouchID, I think the Pro models will get it first. FaceID is pretty much a given with the next SE. As for the cameras, maybe the camera from the iPhone 13 with a second lens. Price could go up to $449 or $499.

Thank goodness it'll be 6.1" and not the same size as the Mini.

If the price and timing is right I might pick it up. 6.1" is smaller than I'm used to but I could live with it. Would be nice to have a cheap option that doesn't use the ancient forehead/chin design and isn't so tiny that it feels like a kids toy (I'm talking about the Mini)
Just buy a XR, 11, 12, 13, 14 or soon 15. All the same size

I bought one a year ago for my son, wish I hadn't, wish I bought him a 13 mini, he feels hard done by, with the fact that we all have full screens and Face ID (I don't blame him) not my best decision, it's also archaic to use 😏
I’m reporting you to child services.

I can't stand those huge phones, you know? It's like they're made for gaming or something. The screens just keep getting bigger. Well, that's great for all those gaming folks who want to buy a big screen. But Apple still needs to offer smaller-sized phones. I don't care if people label them as third-world, emerging markets, or budget options. None of that matters. What matters is that there are people who don't want to use their phones for gaming, and that's what I want.

Right?? I don’t really understand that demand for smaller phones can be so low that it’s not even worth using the SE line to provide that option. I’m on the 13 mini and my girlfriend just got the 14; I thought I’d be jealous but honestly holding it just makes me feel even more confident that the mini is the right size for me. Really hope there’s another smaller model by the time it comes for me to upgrade.
I’m more concerned about Apple no longer offering a phone without a physical home button. My 88 year old mother has a 2nd generation SE and I cringe at the idea of having to upgrade her to a phone that only has facial recognition or passcode to open it. This will punish me.

I don’t think the only reason to have a big screen is gaming, but I agree with the general point.

How can this absolutely outdated device still be relevant when you can choose from four powerful enough iPhone generations something that fits every need and budget is beyond me.

Oh? What, pray tell, is the least expensive iPhone model you can purchase on Apple's website when you exclude the SE and the 13 mini?

Oh no! The reason I buy the SE is because it’s the only iPhone I can get with an actual home button and no stupid notch in the screen.

My prediction: Apple is delaying the release of the next SE because it will use the Mini design. They want a longer span of time between when the 13 Mini released and when that design will become the SE.

I would love that. Also, if it's coming out in 2025 it might include this year's A17 chip, which would be good since it's 3nm and is meant to be much more efficient. Some people didn't buy the Mini because of the battery life...Apple can't put a bigger battery in it, but they could use a new chip that's 20% more efficient.

Contacts can be assigned to each SIM card, it's a one off chore, iMessage can have 2 separate accounts as well. Business data? You can have separate emails & even separate Safari accounts these days.
I guess you just like carrying 2 phones around 😏
Yes, I suppose you could do that, but it's a big mess.

The most ideal thing if they discontinue the old SE phone style and want to stay away from the Mini then the obvious next best choice would be to use the iPhone 11 Pro body. It was possibly the best iPhone in hand they ever designed. It had a smaller screen than the standard 11. 5.8" I could still live with and I would much prefer it to a larger 6.1 screen.

I just described what would be an instant buy from my point of view. I know that Apples SE will be different.

It could get touch ID on the power button like the iPad.

I’m just hoping it keeps TouchID, even if it’s on the sleep button like the iPad Air. It’s faster and more convenient to be able to pull it out of my pocket and have it ready to go by the time I look at the screen. (As opposed to having to first stare at the lock screen and then swipe. Makes a big difference when done dozens of times a day.)
If they make the screen a little larger and do Touch on Power already, I'd be preordering instantly.
