It’s literally in the post that there’s the assumption that by the time the SE 4 comes around, both the regular iPad and iPad mini will have been updated. Rumours indicate A18.They'll still need to produce all those chips for the iPad, iPad Mini, and iPhone 15's
I'm fairly certain I at no point said ALL. I in fact believe I said "many". Perhaps I should have said "some". As someone who takes care of a blind person & frequents the local association for the blind, the SE has been the primary recommended phone of choice. Touch ID has been turned off in many cases, for fear of when the phone does ask for one to randomly input their passcode in to confirm it's them. For older blind persons this is a daunting task, that basically locks the phone for them until someone can input their ( as you know, since there are no tactile buttons it's a chore to input the code & for some the left & right swiping can be frustrating if one is panicking ) code.Blind person here, and you absolutely do not speak for us all.
Just like sited people, some of us get used to it and the rest will eventually get used to it.
And, especially for VoiceOver users, FaceID and TouchID are identified by the exact same unlocking sound, so it absolutely isn’t any more or less difficult to know if it worked or not because it literally will tell you if it worked or not.
Just use the ActionButton and assign that as a home button.
Many older have issues with the touch ID as fingerprints doesn't work as well with older peoples fingers as well.
- Go to shortcuts and click all shortcuts
- and press + to create a short cut
- type in “Go to homescreen”
- Go to settings>action button>shortcuts>type in “go to Home Screen”.
While your overall point is right, and user Ctrlos seems to not believe this has been the case with all three iPhone SE, to be fair, the SE 2020, with an A13, didn’t have night mode, while the equivalent major iPhone (iPhone 11, with an A13 as well) had night mode. In fact, it was the model that introduced it night mode to the iPhone.Same in 2020, the SE2 was only $399 while the XR was $599, but the SE had a newer chip, night mode in the camera, and other internal improvements it's more expensive brother in the XR did not.
There are rumors that 2025 samsung oleds will be pwm freeFinding a suitable LCD screen will be getting more and more difficult as time goes by. I hope Apple figures out an acceptable PWM rate for sensitive people or at least offer it as an Accessibility option.
I still have a iPhone XS and I know a friend who pulled out an earlier version like an 8. Not everyone feels the need to chase the latest version of something. It works.I had an iPhone X in 2017/2018. How time flies…
More likely for £499 with the iPhone 14 being discontinued in the spring of 2025. A18 and 8GB of RAM for AI.There is no way Apple are going to make a USB-C iPhone 14 for £399, even if it does only have one camera. The iPhone 13 is still £599. The iPhone 14 itself will drop to this price next week as the 13 is discontinued. Assuming they're reaching for the same price point as the SE I'd expect an A16 max processor, 4GB of RAM and the regular mute switch.
The iPhone 16Pro is rumored to be 6.3”. The base iPhone 16 is still rumored to be 6.1”, the same as the SE4SE4 will use the iPhone 14 chassis.. iPhone 16 will be 6.3", SE4 will be 6.06" or 6.1".
I just purchased an even slimmer transparent (rigid, polycarbonate) case for my SE 3, one that leaves buttons exposed, and it feels even smaller in hand. I’m loving it!I'm still planning on getting a SE 3 just before the SE 4 is released. My opinion only but I have no interest in a larger phone even if it has the newest tech.

Someone explain to my guy what creates heat and the dimming of the screenI suppose this is mainly for power consumption. It has no affect on heat and the dimming of the screen![]()
modern OLED displays are a lot better on burn in than they used to be, and the OS plays some tricks with slight changing of pixels to avoid it as well. I'm personally not worried about the longevity these days on a phone. On a mac, with large static display assets like the menubar it might be a bigger concern stillI prefer LCDs for its longevity, but I guess the ship has sailed
The type of OLED used in mobile devices (as opposed to TVs) are more expensive in the larger sizes used by iPads as the yield is lower. They also have a tendency to warp a little causing the image to shift as the substrate is not rigid. That is why they used the dual-layer OLED on the IPad Pros as it provides more stiffness and compensates for burn-in. It is also significantly more expensive. So what’s the excuse for not bringing OLED and face ID to the rest of the iPad lineup like they did with the phones?
Are you sure that your battery won’t die before the video causes permanent damage to its screen?rational or not, I don't have to worry about accidentally burning in the screen if I accidentally fall asleep with a long video or static screen displaying with LCDs
They won't. It's apple. They knowingly gimped the Iphone 15 with 6gb of ram even though they knew apple intelligence would likely require at least 8gb, thereby ensuring planned obsolescence. Games like this are becoming more and more tiresome. You never know, Apple might throw in 10-12 GB into their 16 Pro, while giving 8 GB to the masses.
That’s my mistake. While your overall point is right, and user Ctrlos seems to not believe this has been the case with all three iPhone SE, to be fair, the SE 2020, with an A13, didn’t have night mode, while the equivalent major iPhone (iPhone 11, with an A13 as well) had night mode. But not only that. With the SE 3 carrying an impressive A15 just like the iPhone 13, it doesn’t have night mode either, for some reason. And night mode is achieved mainly through the processor, not the lens, AFAIF.
That makes sense….unfortunately inherently it has more grain since the PPI is much lower than the iPhone which hides it.The type of OLED used in mobile devices (as opposed to TVs) are more expensive in the larger sizes used by iPads as the yield is lower. They also have a tendency to warp a little causing the image to shift as the substrate is not rigid.
