It’s becoming harder and harder to defend their decisions lately. It simply comes across like corporate greed. I find purchasing their mobile products more and more unappealing.I love apple, but I don't get some things.
I find the fact they're selling a 60fps device at close to 1000$ pretty ridiculous.
There are usually some leeway for existing stocks. And considering the article is mentioning production ramping up soon, they _could_ be also be trying to stock some early models with lightning ports instead of the desired USB-C. But I agree it is more likely they might just put an adaptor and call it a day until the EU commission fine them. In either case we're making an assumption they don't have the USB-C connector already integrated for cost reasons, which I find personally doubtful since the iPad is already equipped with it.Yes, this is an interesting one. The EU law stipulates that all smartphones, tablets, and cameras sold in the EU must be equipped with a USB-C charging port by the end of 2024. Technically this means that they cannot sell any iPhone or iPad without a USB-C port in the EU from 1 Jan 2025.

Still ridiculous that the most expensive phone and least expensive phone in apple’s lineup will have the same amount of RAM.
There are rumors that 2025 samsung oleds will be pwm free
The iPad Pro OLED screens are 264ppi vs 460ppi for the iPhone 15p, but the viewing distances are different. The phone is used very close to the eyes, whereas the iPad is more likely to be used further way. The LCD iPad Air is also 264ppi so there is specific OLED compromize. The MacBook Air is expected to be used a little further out yet and it has a 224ppi. it’s all about the subtended angle. The closer to your eye, the higher ppi you need. I can tell you while typing on an iPad Pro with the dual-layer OLED, there is no perceivable grain or aliasing. That makes sense….unfortunately inherently it has more grain since the PPI is much lower than the iPhone which hides it.
