Apple is tough, they want proof of purchase. They will void your warranty with a 3rd party screen replacement. Which is why I stayed away from squaretrade warranty. All Apple products have warranty. And since the SE is not even a week old it has a year of Apple warrant left. Does not matter where you buy it from.

Hmm cracked screen would be covered under applecare +just saying lol but have fun with the savings and if carrier insurance well they prob won't cover either. They don't ask for proof of purchase, they can tell from the serial number when it was purchased. You void your warrant by damaging your phone, we are talking about a brand new iPhone here and not a damaged one
In my case, its cheaper. I buy phones all the time from Swappa and eBay, so its not a big deal for me.Is it worth to buy iPhone from eBay rather than Apple store?

Yes, but for everyone else that's not by Apple if they have a unapproved 3rd party their warranty is toast. Just looking out for people who don't knowYou do know square trade will reimburse you if you get it fixed elsewhere? You go go to apple and have them repair the screen and square trade would pay you back.
So does Apple accept an eBay seller as "proof of purchase" for the purposes of adding AppleCare plus?

Was just saying not eligible for applecare+, better? I learned my lesson as 2-iphone 5s started being glitchy and 1 completely died. The conversation was about Apple warranty on the phone bought from eBay. You keep bringing other aspects that have nothing to do with that. AppleCare plus is extra and does not come with a brand new phone. Bottom line all SE have apple care warranty.
Louisiana's is at 10% starting todayAgree that it's most likely not a scam.
If you live in a state with a high sales tax, it's a $50+ savings over buying from Apple.
Tennessee, Arkansas, and Louisiana all at 9%, and I thought the Northeast was bad.![]()

Amen to thatat that rate they should not have a state income tax. That is absurd.
You have an invoice that showers you purchased it new.For apple care plus I see they require a proof of purchase…
What happens if you bought a new phone like this one off eBay?
Nope. Wrong.Buying here you can't get apple care, pretty much forfeit any warranty probably
How do you go about getting applecare+? Figured it would need to be authorized sellerNope. Wrong.

You will have proof of purchase, and it will be within 60 days of the original purchase date since 3/31 was the first date of delivery.
As long as it is within 60 days from the sale or activation date whichever is first there would not be a problem. Remember that Apple has to verify that it is functioning by either bringing it into the store or them remotely verifying it is still OK, and Apple is making money on the extended warranty.Has anyone in here actually done this?
Specifically purchased new from eBay versus an actual recognized authorized seller of Apple products and then successfully gotten apple care plus added to their device?
It's a valid concern is why I ask
For example what is stopping somebody from "selling" a "new" device to themselves through eBay? This seems like something Apple would be stringent about, no?
Mine was marked shipped and provides a tracking # by USPS. USPS still saying tracking info not found, so I'll give it a day and see what happens. The 64GB auction is finished and it states a total of 1,000 phones sold. It seems like a lot for one reseller... But also 1,000 phones isn't really a lot when you think about how many they must have shippedAs long as it is within 60 days from the sale or activation date whichever is first there would not be a problem.
