    - Please stay on topic. Post only your battery life results. Keep conversations to a minimum and discuss only battery saving/consumption related topics in this thread.

    - Requirements include Screenshot of your usage and actual usage for each app as shown below.

    - Please do not go into Low Power Mode when testing battery life.

    - Optionally include TSMC or Samsung SoC.

Mine is bad today. I only run it down to 10% and recharge from a Imac, but lastnight I did it from mains power and it's not lasting very long :(

I'd rather not put all my apps up - but the top using one is 14%

This was yesterday. I haven't had a chance to run it down on all day use w/out getting skewed results b/c I'm on vacation and thus when my son uses my hotspot or I do, that's gonna suck more juice than "everyday" use and often times when I'm using the hotspot I have it plugged in to my rMBP.

Power source has no effect on how your charge lasts, and the iMac doesn't supply anything different than the normal charger.

My SE battery life has been okay, nothing to write home about.

One upside is that I'm getting about the same battery life as my 6, but my SE charges probably twice as fast.

We're all still on the honeymoon stage of overusing it. I think in the future I will post some details I gathered from various sources on maintaining good battery life.

It's been pretty good for me so far. A little bit better than my last 6S.

Granted, that was with a lot of music playing. Here is a more realistic day today.

I don't know if many of you are new to the smartphone world, or have ever used an android phone, but since when is anything over 6 hours of usage time not excellent? Some of you here are posting usage times of 7-8 hours and are saying its decent? A phone with great battery life is anything that gets you over 5 hours of screen on time. You guys need to lower youre expectations or try an android phone for a few days then come back and realize what you had.

Well, to be fair, usage and screen on time are somewhat different things.

mmmm not really. In relation to battery stats, Usage is apples verbiage for screen on time. Just like on android the screen on time kicks on as soon as the phone is turned on which is the most accurate measure of a phones battery in general. Yes, you can be "using" the phone in different ways either browsing which uses less battery, or gaming which uses more, but the metric of screen on time and usage are the same. if a phone is giving you 7 hours of battery life while the screen is on, then you have a phone with superior battery life no question asked.

Err, playing audio, downloading and other such things (ie. everything listed as "background") done with the screen off still count as usage as I understand.

Not true. I have many apps that run in the background and im always checking my usage vs standby time to make sure I don't have any rogue apps killing my battery. For the most part aside from spotify or music apps playing in the background everything else doesn't account for usage.

thats not correct. playing music for instance via spotify counts as usage even when the screen is off.

there is a difference between screen on time and usage. would be awesome if someone did screen on time test only in conjunction using phone normally like browsing internet/music/apps

Plenty of times when I would check usage time before turning off the screen and later without any notifications waking up the screen or me using the phone right after I would unlock it and would check usage time again it could be some minutes more than it was before. And if I'm listening to music or radio with the screen off all that gets counted as usage while the screen itself was off (so wouldn't be "screen on" time).

Yes, and again some messaging apps for example - or say apps that track movement for running or sports will do things in the background with the screen off but still count as usage time.

As others have said, usage and screen on time are not the same. Any background process counts as usage, in addition to the normal on screen activities. Up until iOS 9 there was no way to tell screen on time on iOS without manually tallying up hours. Currently Android lists this as a Screen on Time stat in the battery menu, and iOS in the detailed app breakdown. Although in iOS you have to add them up, and to be precise you need to have 24 hours usage time too; since iOS only displays 24 hours back and 7 days back.

I get a little anal about the assumption that usage time compares to SoT. iOS is a battery beast compared to Android in standby time and power efficiency. However I've never gotten marathon battery life out of my iPhone compared to my Android device in actual on-screen usage. Screens and foreground processes just chew through battery. I have a 6s and a 2014 Moto X, and I get better daily use out of my 6s by a few hours, and better SoT on my 6s by about 30-45 minutes.

Sorry but you're wrong. I track my bicycle ride everyday using the app Mapmyride. Start the app and then lock the phone. At the end of a 1.5 hour ride there is 1.5 hours of usage even though the screen was not on.

I'm not too impressed by these battery stats.

My lowly iPhone 5 used to give me 10 hours. I was hoping the SE would get 13 as quoted by Apple. Seems that 7-10 is nearer the mark.

Are we condemned to a world of mediocre battery life? It looks as though we are.

Still 35% left. This phone is great.
