This post is a celebration to an unprecedented and terrific iPhone upgrade.
Upgrade from whatever iPhone; in fact I used every iPhone out there for a while from 2007, from the debut iPhone to the iPhone 6s.

This one is simply an awesome release and it has the most valuable "feature" that an electronic device can have: a truly long battery life. Not a long life because of a great size that allows it (like the iPhone 6s+) but because of a sublime cocktail of components of the right size, of proven usefulness.

Just for reference I attached a screenshot of the battery usage during the first discharge of my new iPhone. I'm astonished.

Someone see it as an old design refurbished, I see it as a pinnacle in the Apple industrial design and in product design alone. Defining it old design to me is like defining old design the Tour Eiffel.

I find this model a celebration of a great design and a tasteful mix of what truly counts in a pocketable smartphone.

I'm kind of partial to my 5. It's Black/Slate. You can see it there to the left on top of my wife's silver iPhone 5.

Also, my battery on my 6s+. :D

I love the SE. I used to be on the 6+ too. The form factor is beautiful. Battery life is sufficient. Sometimes going small again is refreshing.

I agree. The SE has pretty much all the features I need. The only thing I wish the SE had is the advanced wifi and LTE. I wish it also had the same display as the 4.7" 6S. I am not sure about touch ID as I have never tried it out but from what I have read not many apps utilize it yet. Maybe on the next 4" release they might add it. But other than that it is an excellent phone.

Definitely my favourite iPhone ever, even though i have the sleep/wake button rattle and the yellow band across the top of the screen issues, i still love it. I will be returning mine soon and reordering another one hopefully without these issues, but if the replacement has them i can easily live with them. In the meantime while waiting for the replacement i will have to use my 6s for a couple of weeks, and i can honestly say i am not looking forward to going back to it even if it is only for a couple of weeks.

It has Touch ID. It just doesn't have version 2, which is faster.

Now it's even more perfect for you. ;)

According to a computer magazine it has the same Touch ID as the iPhone 6, which is an improvment over the Touch ID of the iPhone 5se.
Because this Touch ID is a little bit faster (but not so fast that that you miss always the lock screen) and handles better sweaty fingers.
If this is true this would be perfect, because I want to possibility to take a lock at the lock screen with the home button. But I'm have some problems with the Touch ID of 5s when my fingers are sweaty.

Didn't have my SE yet, but I believe the magazine :)

It's just so! Faster than 5s Touch ID, slower than 6s one.

Than it's perfect, after Apple does not allow add to add a delay to the much to fast Touch ID of the iPhone 6s :)

No. The 5S, SE and 6 all use the same TouchID. Only the 6S has a different version, Touch ID 2.

I'll stick with a nice 400 ppi screen that I can actually read and text on. Toy phones are so 2013 ;)

    Opposite thinking here.
Tablet-phones are a compromise to me, awkward 2014-15 toys ;-)
Smart-phones are sized to be used one-handed. And text on iPhone 4,5,SE is absolutely readable at 326ppi.

If I have two hands available and want to read, browse happy I gotta grab my faithful MacBook Air that is not a compromise by itself like iPhone 6s+ and is portable too and priced the same.
If I need to read books, tons of pages then I grab my Kindle that is so much more enjoyable for extendend reading....or just a book if weight and portability is not an issue. Not all the old tools are bad just because they are old tech ;-)

Just because Apple writes this on the Webpage it's not automatically true. Apple does not telling us all.
I found this article what confirms the information of my computer magazine with some additional interesting details:

    http://www.gsmarena.com/iphone_6s_touchid_more_sensitive_than_5s-news-9741.php

Seems the difference from the Touch ID of the 5s to the 6 / SE Touch ID is a better resolution. This may result the reported better speed to the 5s and the handling of sweaty fingers.

Maybe a better resolution of the scanner was not enough for Apple to announce this Touch ID of the 6 /SE as the second generation? Who knows? :)

You are using a guy with a piece of tape as an argument that they are different? o_O

Apple says it is the same. The iFixit teardown revealed it to be the same. But a guy with some tape says it is different. Ooookay...

    "iPhone SE, best iPhone ever"

I'll fix this for you. iPhone 6s and 6s+ are the best ever...Until September. iPhone 5SE is good, but not the best.

I too think it's the same hardware found in iPhone 5s. Maybe SE SoC helps to speed things after the finger recognition.

    iPhone SE = 2540/4420
    MacBook = 2500/4640

So are these Geekbench numbers from iOS and OS X comparable or not?

    Sure, they are.
These days smartphones (and tablets) are workstations.

Well there seems to be a different between the iPhone 5s and 6. Here an additional report about small improvements:

    Source: http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/mobi...vs-iphone-5s-should-you-get-apples-new-mobile

However, the german computer magazine which wrote this too, is very good. I believe them.
But maybe you right, perhaps its the processor. How knows? Fact is that there are a lot of reports that the iPhone SE has a better TouchID as the 5s.

The best iPhone is the one you like. For some, its the 6s plus, for others, its the 5c, etc.

For me, I'm liking the SE, and it may very well be favorite phone, but right now, my absolute favorite iPhone is the 5c.
