Personally, I trust iFixit more than a rush video posted a day before the SE2 was publicly available.

Second, with different camera suppliers, I'm not surprised the iPhone 8 might not recognize a camera from a newer manufacturer.

So it turns out their device was defective, and they now rate the SE just behind the 11. As expected.
