WTH? I assume this is a miscommunication. Maybe I typed it wrong, but it's "Ohhhhhhh", not "Ewwww". As in, "I get it now". Not attacking anyone's own choice on phones. That would be childish and irrelevant. Please re-read my post and you'll see there is no judgment/ill-will.

This is why I am keeping my SE on 10.3.3 for the foreseeable future. I don’t see the need to update to iOS 11 when I have my X for that.
I have battery issue as well. I'm on 10.3.3, only use whatsapp, wechat and checking the weather. The worst part is, every time i switch off the phone at night and turn on in the morning, it lost 15% of the battery. Do you have this problem as well? Not sure if this problem is fixed or the battery is even worse in ios 11, so not upgrading yet.
I haven't noticed it. I plugged my phone last night to 100%, and unplugged it so I can use the lightning cable to charge my ipad mini 4. I checked my iphone SE when I woke up this morning, and it was down to 92%, which i find odd because before when it was still 6 months old, it would go down by 3% overnight unplugged.

I don't see any battery drain issue on my SE with iOS 11. The only time I see the battery drain unexpectedly is after I have used voice dictation (i.e., using the microphone button on the keyboard to dictate text instead of typing it). After that, a job called "Siri Audio" continually drains the battery. I found the solution to that problem at the bottom of this thread: https://discussions.apple.com/thread/7708349. The solution is to play some music or a video briefly. If I forget to do that, then most of the time "Siri Audio" will drain the battery. I had this problem even with iOS 10, and it is still there in iOS 11.
You didn't turn off the phone right? I switch off the phone completely and still drained 15% when switched back on.
Maybe you can give it a test.

Love my SE, but I'll admit there are times when I get jealous of my friends' larger iphones and androids. All that screen real estate... tempting for sure!

I wish that the SE screen had the same resolution as the larger 4.7" screens. That's the only problem I have. I'd rather the default text and graphics be overall smaller but more of it displayed. I guess for those with poor eyesight, squeezing even more onto such a small screen would not be appreciated, but I'd love it.

It's actually a 6S. It has the exact same camera & chipset. It's more powerful than the iPhone 6 Plus and the iPhone 6. And on par with the iPhone 7.
4 inch screen =/= cheap, useless device.
I've been unplugged since 7:30am, it's now 1:28pm and I have hours of web usage and streaming music usage, still 82% battery.

I am thinking of getting an iPad mini, or having a separate iphone for picture editing (larger screen so I can see more detail) and keeping the iPhone SE/SE2 as my main device I carry around at work, walking, etc etc. Basically anywhere but home.

I learned something new. It's a 6S in a 5 body. I have no hate about the 6S or the 5, I had them both. I also used a the 4 inch screen for a long time. Easy to carry around. My maximum phone size is whatever fits in my pocket. If i can squeeze a little more size, I prefer a bigger screen personally. But I have no judgment for anyone's reasons to go with the SE. I had no intention of talking about the SE so much, I just wanted to mention the aftermath of some apparent fierce posting. Carry on.
I have an iPad mini as my "home phablet" and an SE as my "everywhere else phone". For me it's because home is where I do all my consumption. When I'm out, I barely consume at all, so I just find bigger phones annoying. I tried using an iPhone plus as my only phone--hated it--then I used it as my "home phablet" (using the SE everywhere else), but the plus was a bit smaller than I wanted, it was pretty bad in landscape orientation, I missed iPad-specific features like multitouch gestures and multitasking, and Continuity didn't play as well between two iPhones. An iPad mini isn't designed to be a phablet, it's a bit big for that purpose, but overall it's been much better.
I think one of the reasons the SE works so well for me is that I also have an iPad, and the two work very well in concert with each other. If the iPhone was my only iOS device I’d probably be hankering for an 8+ or something, but with plenty of screen real estate available on my iPad, I have zero desire to carry a big phone around.

I'd argue that this is where Apple is ultimately heading with the Apple Watch. Eventually, most will carry a watch-sized device which will interface with screens of different sizes, as needed, or not. Imagine going into a coffee house, and picking up a fully charged screen, that links to your watch as a display only, without having to walk around with one, or in your car, an uber, different offices, hotels, friends and family homes, etc. Even "May I borrow your screen", would be a much easier thing to do than borrowing someone's phone -- no privacy issues, with theft concerns minimized.
I wasn’t enjoying the lag or the battery life on the generally awful iOS 11 thru 11.1, but I’m warming to 11.2. Battery life seems fine and everything seems to be working smoothly again for me. Still a great phone; if there’s an SE2 great but I won’t be rushing to get rid of this.
that's what I'm saying. And users here are posting they don't have SE battery problems with iOS 11. Freaking liars. I'm updating to 11.2 as I type, and I'll see if there's improvement.
My battery went down from 100% to 43% after 14 hours unplugged with only 1.5 hours of usage yesterday.

You must have a crystal ball. Were you the one predicting in 2007 that mobile phones the size of small tablets would never happen either?

Easy to see how this will not work under apple business model.
And no, I did not give any prediction on phone size back in 2007 or any other year.

I won't deny you're having battery life issues on your phone. You're the one using it, not me. However, perhaps consider that the issues you're encountering may not be universal?
