It's $400. How much cheaper do you need it to be? Even when the new iPhone comes out with the latest processor and camera, the iPhone SE is still going to be $150 cheaper than the iPhone 6s (assuming Apple follows the same pattern of discounting last year's iPhone by $100).

I don't see why, its apples and oranges, Apple isn't updating that model, just their flagship model

Apple doesn't drop prices until a new one replaces it, typically a year later. So they will drop the price in another six months, probably by $50. Maybe by $75 for the 64gb model.

In all honesty, the SE will continue to outperform all Android flagships for the next two years. Maybe not in raw benchmarks, but in ability to "get things done" and "feel fast". iOS feels much faster than Android, even on older hardware. You take a Snapdragon 801, which isn't that old, 2 years, and it is noticeably sluggish already. 5s? Nope. And the SE is at least twice as fast as that. Apple has a HUGE cpu lead. And the A10 being twice as fast as the A9? Crazy!
It's future proof for sure.

$400 USD, for a 16GB model that I've long since outgrown. The 64GB here in Canada, after my provinces' insane 15% sales tax, comes out to over $800. It's still a great bargain compared to the 6S prices around here (and the 7 is supposed to be ridiculous) but $800 is not pocket change to everybody.

Nevertheless I ordered a 64GB through my carrier. It still cost me $400 up front and the other $400 is spread out over two years of payments on my bill. The carrier and phone price climate in Canada is way worse than it was back in 2013 when I bought my 5S.

I honestly didn't expect SE prices to drop so soon but I figured it was worth an ask being so close to a product reveal. After weighing my options the 64GB SE is affordable enough at its current price for the quality of the phone. I'll easily get three years out of the SE like I did with my 5S. Can't wait to get it!

It may get a price cut when/if the SE 2 comes out otherwise the price will stay the same I think as it's not a flagship model.

Those were my thoughts as well. The SE is cheap enough as it is, where most Customers have even purchased it outright being the price point is low enough. I highly doubt Apple will lower the price point on the SE and leave it as is.

And to the point, the SE really has no definitive answer if it will be updated or not, which is another reason the price would remain the same, unless its predecessor debuts in the future.

I never said even $400 was pocket change.

But the money conversion isn't really a valid argument because you should also be making more money since your dollar is weaker. Your 64GB SE is $709 ($547.70 USD), which is only $48 more than what we pay for ours.

Though by comparison, your 64GB 6s is $1,183 after your insane tax rate. My whole point is that the iPhone SE is significantly less expensive than the iPhone 6s while having the majority of specs that matter.

It will be amusing when March 2017 comes and goes with no price reduction or news of a SE refresh.

Wait and see. You can apologize then.
