could we see the iPhone se 2 announced today in apples press release?

There is not going to be an SE2 updated along side the iPhone 8 product Red if the rumor is accurate. Is it possible, yes? But it is very unlikely being that this is likely just a refresh color for the iPhone 8, and perhaps the Airpower and wireless AirPod Battery Case.

Thanks for your response, far more helpful than just “no”.

The 6s would be in a super weird position if the SE gets updated with A10, camera, etc.

The iPhone 6 was in a super weird position when the SE was released. And the 6 was only one generation old at the time, unlike the 6S which has been superseded by the 7, 8 and X already.

The continuing existence of the 6S is a far stranger phenomenon in the current line up than an updated SE would be.

Why just No? At least explain your answer, last year Apple doubled the storage capacities of the iPhone se, so just saying “no” is quite frankly a little idiotic.
• It is a phone that we don't even know exist. Plenty of rumors saying that it won't surface at all.
• Mondays are not usual Apple release days.
• If it was a speed bump update, they would likely do it together with other minor hardware bumps so they don't have to take the website store down multiple times.
• Today doesn't just feel like an Apple release day.
• If they are indeed announcing a product RED iPhone, they might as well announce an SE2 at the same time. And the rumors doesn't speak of such a product being released today.

What's idiotic is asking a dumb question. There's zero proof at this point that a iPhone se2 is in the works (which you would have known if you used google for 5 minutes). So asking if this non-existent phone is being announced today is far more idiotic than someone answering your question which he actually does, because the answer to your question really is 'no' everything more than that is not answering your question.

Hey but maybe they'll announce the X2 as well today alongside the iPhone 9 and the SE2.

Thanks for your reply, that’s why I asked the question, could it be announced today, if someone is going to just say no then at least tell me why. I appreciate your time in replying to my forum thread.

The most reliable Apple analyst in the world has said no SE2 this year.

It won't be today, June, or September.

I don't see how it was "super weird." If a consumer wanted the lowest cost 4.7" or 5.5" iPhone, the iPhone 6 was the answer.

In fact, iPhone 6 is still being sold today by Apple as new with 32GB in emerging markets like India.

I believe nothing from any so called reliable or ‘we know it all’ sources. I believe it when Apple will release their products. Sometimes they surprise, sometimes it’s easily predicted, what they will be releasing.
No rocket science.

While it would be nice to have an update to the iPhone SE, I’m not sure it’s really necessary. I’m using a 6s on 11.3 and this feels fast. I’m assuming 11.3 on a SE would also be fast. That said, maybe next year.

This is a valid point. The SE performs very well on 11.3 and has since it’s release in March 2016 thus far. If Apple doesn’t update an SE at all, we can at least expect two more years of iOS updates until iOS 13. At least it had a decent run if that’s all we see from the SE. I Think others seemingly forget that Apple never had to introduce iPhone SE to begin with, but they did at an affordable price.

They probably wont. There isn't such a high demand for a small 4 inch display anymore, except for a small niche of people. Apple has shown in the past that it wants to make the most profit as possible. The iPhone SR was created due to a large amount of left over iPhone 5 and iPhone 5s shells being left over, and at the time many people still had an iPhone 5-5s and didn't want a bigger phone.
