iPhone iPhone SimFree FREE tool (iUnlock) released...

I just unlocked my phone. I tried my coworkers TMobile SIM and it worked. I put my ATT SIM back in and rebooted. Visual voicemail stopped working. When I get home from work I plan to do a complete restore. Will that enable visual voicemail again?

I was going to get the 4Gig Nano, but after seeing the unlock, I went for the 4Gig iPhone.

I followed the procedures listed here:

What did you use for it?
Which procedure did you use?

Can you help me out over aim?

I used my Mac and this link:

Follow it to the letter!

One of the steps is to activate the iPhone on its own. This alone is cool for those who want to use it as just a PDA. It says "no service" and everything (but the phone of course) is functional!

How do I go arround activating with windows xp and i tunes 7.4.1.2? I guess I after that I can manage the rest.
 
yes i unlock my iphone but my carrier doesnt show it only shows big E only. and i notice that dial button dont make sounds anymore. and the edge on my iphone it showed cingular and the password too. i think that is strange
 
So I am on day two with the unlock and its working great, so many great people on this forum have been helping each other and its killer to see that!🙂

So here is my only question / problem.

Currently the sim I am using is taken from a tmobile sidekick that only has a DATA plan. Now, today when I was out I wanted to use the internet and it couldn't connect. I came across this:

NOTE: To set up T-Mobile's EDGE, make sure you have the Total Internet Add-On (with or without VPN, to enable VPN you must call Customer Service) enabled on your account (its $19.99/month as of September 12, 07). The $5.99 T-Zones plan WILL NOT work.

Do I have to call them to add this? I didn't see it online when I went to my plan but is that because I currently don't have a phone plan attached? If I do add a phone plan can I still use a sidekick plan AND the total internet add on? I think that at times I may want to use the sidekick.

Any ideas?

Go to:

http://my.t-mobile.com

Log into your account.

Go to "Plans and Service" on top

Click "View all services"

Uncheck "T-Zones" if you have it, then check "T-Mobile Total Internet" (at the bottom). Click "Continue" and go from there...

hi i unlock my iphone but when i shutdown my iphone and turn it back on the unlock closes again and my sim doesnt work again and i have to unlock again anyone knows why that is. the only way for me not to lose the unlock again it to put the iphone in sleep mode
 
Question. I'm currently on T-Mobiles SK3 plan w/ my SK but because of the recent problems I've been getting with this thing, I'm considering buying an iPhone. I've read how to unlock and know it will work but is there anything I should know that my plan may effect positively or negatively if I use my T-MO SIM in an unlocked iPhone? Thanks.

edit: nvm. looks like i'm either gonna have to stick with this POS sidekick or change plans. any options i have through T-Mo because switching carriers is not an option(im on a family plan with my parents and 2 sibblings)?

Hello, I was able to successfully unlock the iphone using the instructions. However, I was wondering if anyone had any luck in using SK Telecom (south Korea) with the iPhone?

1. Download Independence 1.2.1
2. Deactivate your phone
3. Activate your phone again

This is, assuming you are on AT&T. If you have it unlocked for other carriers, then I'm not sure the above steps will work or not.

Hey man, totally in your position over here. I have a Sidekick iD, and I am fed up with the aging phone and definite aging OS of the Danger OS. With the iPhone, it pretty much took the SK and destroyed it. And the SK3 itself sucks in general. The body is awful. I had 2 and they both brke. 🙁

Alright, so today, I went and bought a 4GB iPhone for $299 from the Apple store in San Francisco (Stonestown)... I activated it within 3 hours (took a lot of effort and a lot of reading) and now everything works but I'm having trouble with YouTube and stuff. Anyways..

I put my T-Mobile SIM in and I was having trouble getting EDGE to work, but I could make and receive calls fine. I was on the MyFaves 300 ($39.99) plan with the Sidekick Data plan (unlimited SMS, data) for $20 extra per month. In order to get EDGE to work, (and what assumably meant to get everything on the iPhone to work that was internet related), I called T-Mobile and had them switch me to a same price, non-MyFaves plan. I also had them remove the Sidekick plan and put on the Total Internet plan ($19.99) and add the unlimited SMS plan ($14.99). It's $15 more a month, but it's worth it. This phone is amazing, man. I'm at SFSU right now, so the service is real spotty in the dorms (visiting my girlfriend) but I'm sure it'll be decent back at home (south bay area).

Bottom line: I think you need to revise your plan, because you can only enable EDGE manually with the internet2.voicestream.com hack for EDGE, because the Sidekick Data plan is all ran through Danger's servers, anyway.
 
I am really annoyed

and I am on the very last steps. Up the here everything is ok

After Typing those commands I get error and page says

"If you get ERROR after the first command, try to exit minicom (see below) and run bbupdater -v again, then start minicom and try once more."

I have done that countless and still getting error. Can anyone tell me what I am doing wrong?
